Questions about WTA

I have ordered some WTA, hoping that it will help me kick the final few cigarettes I'm smoking each day. Everything I'm reading about it sounds as though it might just work for me, and explains so much about past attempts to quit.

But I have a few questions to ask those of you who do use it, or have used it.

1. How often do you use it, and at what percentage?
2. Did you find that it really helped you? In what way?
3. Do you have any tips for using WTA?

If it matters, I've ordered WTA in .6 strength (the same strength as my e-liquid) and will probably start by adding 10% to my e-liquid. Beyond that, I'm unsure, so some insights from those who have used it would help. :)

If you are still smoking, try it at the full .6 strength. The greatest effect that it has for me is a calming endpoint.
Like the end of a cigarette. I'd feel satisfied like I had had enough and put the mod down.

I used it for a year exclusively in my DIY(16mg nic/10% 24mg WTA). Now I vape mostly nic-only juice and have some WTA when I feel like it. Its nice stuff.

I've used all three vendors, Wholecig, MothersmilkWTA and Aroma. I like Aroma's best.

After you try it, you'll be able to tell how much you want to use. More, less or not at all.

Thanks a lot for replying. When you say to try it at full .6 strength, do you mean to not mix it with the e-liquid?

Early on, when I needed it the most, I was on stick batteries and Pro Tanks. I filled a mini PT2 with 24mg WTA and hit it when I felt a craving. At that time, I was also using mostly 18mg juice, but with some 24mg plain nic juice at times as well. Later on I started mixing a small amount of WTA (maybe 25%) into the one tobacco flavored juice I had in my rotation. On occasion, particularly around the 3 month mark, I would get strong cravings right after lunch and a couple of drops of 36mg WYA on a dripper would fix them right up. Understand however, that was not a modern dripper; the coil in it was not sub-ohm nor was the airflow suitable for direct lung hits. These days, I run bottom-fed mods exclusively, and I will still drip in a few drops of WTA liquid once or twice a day. I no longer need it to overcome cigarette cravings, but if I don't use any for a number of days, I start to feel like there's something missing.

2. Did you find that it really helped you? In what way?

For me it definitely helped overcome the cravings for a cigarette compared to vaping plain nic.

3. Do you have any tips for using WTA?
Use only "as needed" and vape regular nic the rest of the time. The stuff's relatively expensive now and since I doubt any of the producers having the resources necessary to submit PMTAs to the FDA, I expect it's likely to disappear from the market sometime within the next few years. So you don't want to become too dependent on it. That said, if using some is what gets you to put down the cigs for good, then its priceless.

The half-life of nic in your body is something on the order of 2 hours. I'm reasonably convinced the half-life of the other alkaloids in WTA is MUCH longer.

I started out with it at 10% of my vape (the 24mg WTA), and I've vaped it in everything since I started with it, but I think Rossum's advice is valuable; it's been challenging to step down my percentage, and I agree with him that it probably won't endure very long at all, post-deeming. It's taken me over a year to get from 10% to .7%, and it's been challenging, every step of the way, and I'm still not finished. So it probably would be better to keep it just for when the cravings are really bad.


2. Did you find that it really helped you? In what way?

It got rid of the cravings -- plain nic did not. If you find that WTA doesn't eliminate the cravings, then your cravings aren't physical, they're psychological, and WTA won't do a single thing for them.
