Questions and concerns

I am in pretty decent shape, and run regularly, but due to my asthma, and bad lungs, I've decided to quit smoking.

I got my joye 510 yesterday, and I'm in love!!!

It's only been a day since I've had it, but I don't know if I could go back to smoking, I like vaping waaaay better. However, I haven't noticed any increase in lung function, but it is much too early to make a judgment.

The only thing I don't like is the occasional under production of vapor, and a nasty chemically taste. I wait 30 sec between puffs, and am wondering if maybe the atomizer burns the filler material sometimes (possibly due to low e juice)?

How long does a cartridge usually last? Also, have you guys noticed that your breathing is easier?

Thank you.

When I quit analogs for a month with a vap, I noticed all sorts of improvements. From better breathing to more strength and energy, to a larger penis, lol. As you can imagine, Im happy vaping..

I did get the chem taste with my last vaporizer. Mostly when it was almost out, or if I was hitting it too often and it got hot. I used one cart a day, but carried a second cart for those rough days. And I did use it on the rough days. On the average, Im a 10 analog a day smoker. Pretty much one an hour at work, then cut it way back at home.

Hi SteamyTheBear and welcome! It may be a bit to soon to notice an increase in lung capacity, give it some time.

One thing about the 510 is that you HAVE to keep it topped off. Usually 6-8 drops on top of the filler keeps the atomizer wet. Unfortunately inconsistent vapor production seems to be a complaint with most new e-cigs and it's practice, practice, practice, keeping your atomizer wet and allowing time for it to "break in". ;) You don't vape like you would smoke and you need to give your PV time to wick the juice back up or it will taste dry.

Thank you guys for your responses. I'm glad to hear that you have noticed improved health game, and your testimonial is encouraging.

Thank you for the advice gooddog.

I have a question though. The manufacturer included 2 empty (no filler) cartridges with my ecigs, and I was wondering where to get filler, I'm a little scared of using walmart brand pillow stuffing, as was recommended elsewhere on the forum, but was unable to find official filler on any of the supplier sites.

Any links/info on finding some?

Like you, I'm not entirely comfortable using the poly fiber in the bags of pillow stuffing, although I'm not sure there's any logic in this; it's probably the exact same kind of polyester fiber. I just keep reusing the filling that was in my original carts, and it's looking kind of sad by now.
There may be several suppliers that sell the filler, but the only one I know for sure has it is MyPVshop. Look in the list of approved suppliers on this forum, and you'll find the link. They sell a small portion that should last a good long time. I believe it's listed under 'accessories'.
You should also consider some of the filler mods listed on this forum. The 'PTB' (pyramid tea bag) one is a favorite; I have tried that one, and it works quite well. Look for the simplified version of this one. There is a link on this forum that shows you exactly how to do it, step by step.

If you want the same type of filler than came with your carts you can buy that at a fabric store. Ask for 1/4" polyester batting on a roll. I don't imagine you can buy less than 1/4 yard but it's really cheap and that is enough to last you for 100 years. ;)

Most people try other cart mods as mentioned and they work. The blue foam needs to be washed really well to get rid of the taste some experience. I never had luck with the PTB (Pyramid Tea Bag) mod but maybe I wasn't doing it right. A friend is sending me some Fluval and she swears by it. I bought the wrong kind, it was more like a sponge, and it didn't work. There's another mod that I've been fooling around with called the ZFM and many say it's the best.

Until manufacturers and designers come up with the perfect PV it's trial and error and finding what works best for you. This industry is very new and improvements are on the way. :)

If you want to clean the polyfill you have, until you possibly move on to a different filler material, it is really quick and easy. Just rinse them under tap water while squeezing them a couple of times, until you see no more juice color. Then just smash them dry between a paper towel a couple of times until you see no more water.
