Hi All,

Love the forum, and I'm enjoying the hobby thus far. My problem, like so many other new vapers, is with the hardware.

Last week I bought my first e-cig; an Ego-C. My first impressions were very favorable, but soon enough it became apparent that the device has one fatal flaw. It leaks. I tried a number of fixes and studied e-cig forums extensively. At the house, I can deal, but if I try to wall or drive with the device, it empties itself all over, through the tip and through threads of the battery and atomizer.

Needless to say, I cannot recommend this product.

Today I a purchased 5 joyetech cartos in the hope that I could solve the leaking issue. The cartos do not leak. Problem solved. Except.... I hate the hit! The vapor production is fine, but the vapor itself is HOT. Not burning hot, but uncomfortably so; like sucking on a mini blow dryer. I can't stand to use them. I feel like I'm inhaling something toxic.

I've spent over two hundred dollars thus far and would like to avoid further expense if possible.

Anyone with a similar experience and or some advice?

Thanks for your time!

What Ohm range on those carto's? A standard range won't be as hot as a low range one. Ditto on the flavor and thickness of juice. Tobacco likes it hot. Sweet, not so much. Some people wouldn't complain at all on a hotter vape. That is one of the biggest reasons folks are drawn toward VV Mods. Everyone has a learning curve in finding the right combo for them. Don't get discouraged. Perhaps shorter draws and don't inhale but take into your mouth first before you inhale.

Make sure everything is screwed down real tight....not wrench tight, but firm. We just started on Cs and my wife's leak at first. I grabbed it and was able to give both the base and the cone another nudge....hasn't leaked since.

Having said that, be both already hate the ego tanks for various reasons and have moved on to the clearomizers and tank cartos (and this was within a week of usage). Welcome!

The main thing that I've found to cause leaking with the eGo-C is not using a soft, slow drag because the suction created by hard, fast drags will pull too much juice through the wick, thereby leading to leaking. Also, make sure you're fully inserting the tank into the cone as I've had a tank that initially hung up about 1/32 inch or so from full insertion unless I pressed it in really hard. It may also be that the wick is a bit too far down in the spike tube, Vicki at Cignot has a short YouTube video that shows what to look for in terms of wick position and how to fix it. Finally, you could try the silicone replacement caps that seem to help some people.

Exactly right. Ihad a similar issue with my Ego until I learned how to use it properly.

I got me an eGo-C going on 2 weeks now. The tanks don't seem to last as long as a KR808 carto, even though I hear they hold about the same amount. First I suspected leaking, but all I ever see is one-two drops worth inside the cone when I remove the tank. Now from what 'm reading this may be normal. Perhaps there is some other reson or maybe it is my imagination.

Curious- what are these clearomizers and tank cartos? How are they different from the stock eGo tanks? Where can you get them? They may be worth a try.

I am betting these are LR cartos as they burn considerably more energetically (lots of sizzle, crackle and pop) and hotter than the standard cartos I've tried using my friend's kit.

I'm unable to identify the brand or type; the box is matte black, says "Accessories" on the front, and has a small white sticker on the bottom that says "510".
