While I am not a smoker I am around smokers because I play pool in a bar league. When a friend of mine showed me these devices the old gears started turning. Since this state is a non-smoking in public places state, the few bars that were hold-outs are now getting hefty fines. My thought is to somehow offer disposable ecigs as an alternative to the patrons. My question, since I am not a smoker, is how a smoker would accept these as an alternative while they are in the establishment. It seems most of the posts on this forum are pointed towards smokers that want to make a change and how to go about doing that the best way. I have seen little discussion on the merits of marketing disposables in a public environment and how well received they may be. Any input would be appreciated.

I would think the owner might make a few bucks by setting up a display of a cheap e-cig (Nikoteck and Cig2O seem popular around here) with basic starter packs, disposables, and cartomizers. I know a lot of smokers who use e-cigs on occasion without any intention to quit the analogues, and this seems like a good setting. If I ever succumb to my dream and open up a bar...

Glad to see you signed up here like we discussed last night...

As for the law here, it specifically states "lighted". This automatically rules out e-cigs as there is no combustion involved. In an attempt to close this loophole, our legislature attempted to pass new legislation back in 2010, however that died in committee.

I am a relative newbie here, but have found the information here, and by extension the people, are always most helpful.

That would be cool in a vaperoom. In the real world I wouldn't have my pv's out as a rental. If someone walked away with one I'd be really POed.
I think it be really neat to just have a e-cig program, where the bar owner has VV models that people can sign-out and borrow while at the bar. Then they can purchase the juice/flavour/nicotine. Or people can bring their own stuff. Same business model as a pool hall when you rent a table, they give you the balls...

Thanks for the replies folks. Apparently the emails won't get through to me so I have to check back here. So I discovered Square 82s. Any comments from those who have used them relative to this discussion about marketing to smokers in bars?

I haven't heard of them.

You could try the disposable type-
Disposable E Cigarette – 510 E Cigarette | Disposable 510 B Ecig | Disposable 510 B Vaporizer

I tried this disposable and this is actually what got me to try vaping. It tastes great and it lasts a pretty long time.

You asked how a smoker would accept ecigs in light of smoking bans in bars. It really would all depend on the person. Like you said we are here because we want to change. There are die hard smokers that would never accept them even if it would allow them to "smoke" inside. So you would come to find a mixed reaction. I think its great that you as a non smoker are interested in this. However be careful, some of these die hard smokers are going to hate you for even suggesting they try an alternative to their cigarettes.

Well you could maybe keep a piece of ID (18 and up type deal), or you just rent out brick mods. (510 threading, and 16650 power supply attached to a hollowed out brick...literally

I really like this idea. I think it has alot of potential. I would go with rentals instead of disposables simple because they aren't exactly as disposable as advertised. It's not the best idea to be throwing out any type of battery. I would be pretty ...... if my garbage truck caught on fire due to a thrown away battery.

I can envision a scenario where the batteries are rented out and the prefilled cartomizers sold in a number of different common tobacco flavors to mimic what the renter would normally smoke. Before leaving, they would pick up their deposit or license, return the battery and throw the carto away.

There may be some who would not like the idea. For those people, they can go outside and smoke their analogs. There may be some who appreciate the idea and use the e-cigs while in the bar as a stop gap and switch back to analogs once they leave. And there may be others who like idea so much that they switch completely.

You could talk to the bar owner and see how he or she would feel about their customers using e-ciggs in the bar. Educate yourself here a bit to have some winning ammo points, such as it may attract more business, no 2nd hand smoke, people may stay longer if they can feel like they are "smoking" inside, no bad "burnt" smells, ect ect If the owner in question likes the idea, onto step two. You could buy some business cards from ECF and have a stack at the bar, or spilt the stack in half to put in multiple bars if you frequent more than one. I think the limit is one 50 card stack per month per person. The cards are free you just pay shipping and handling. Just an idea! Good luck!

Wow, those are cheap, and with a 510 connection! Nice stocking-stuffer... except, well Christmas won't be back around for a while...
Are they any good?

From their website:
After you finish using it, please do not try to take it apart or refill because it may cause fire and injury.
But you did, right? Or your hubby did? :D (rhetorical; just take the 5th)

I would talk to the owner and see if he would be willing to post a sign saying that E-cigarettes were a legal and viable alternative.

If you are good buds with all the league members, you could suggest E-cigs, but don't expect a lot of acceptance....at first.
At least plant the seed in their minds, but definitely don't start preaching, that will turn them off immediately.

Well of course I did.

You wouldn't believe how long that battery lasts, and the juice was good too. I got it as a freebie on the board here last year and after I got it, I ordered my ego. I have a couple more I ordered for just in case.

I don't know about the liteCigUSA disposable. Never tried it but the price isn't bad.
