Hi, been lurking for a few weeks now, decided to start posting. Anyways, I've been happily vaping for a few weeks on my Volts but I heard that an e-cigarette lounge opened up near me and decided to check it out.

Turns out its also a storefront for a local (Miami, FL) e-cig vendor called Vapor Shark. I walked in just to check out their juice (they make their own) and while $25 for 30mls is on the pricy side, the stuff wasn't bad, though fruit flavors of which they seem to have a ton are not really my style it seems. Anyhow, I grabbed their own branded ego-t (I think) 900mah battery loose as I figured it wasn't a bad idea to have a 510 compatible unit and I'd seen people raving about ego's for a while along with a 4.5 ml ego dual coil carto, some juice, a standard atty for dripping, and a drip tip.

I had been interested in tanks for a bit and I noticed that they sold some there. They are all chrome, with a chrome drip tip and come in 3.5 and 6 ml varieties. They are 16.99 and 19.99 respectively. My question is: Does anyone knows what type of tanks these are? They kinda look like smoktechs. If so, are they any good? I've heard some horror stories of the cartos and caps falling off and I don't want to deal with any of that hassle.

I don't want to post their website as I don't know if that's cool to do or not, but they are easy enough to find and they have pics on their site. Thanks a lot.

No, you just rinse them out. You need a new carto when you change flavors.
They sound like Smoketech DCT tanks. They are o.k. for the price. They're online all over the place for $10-15.
You might want to go to Pbusardo's website and look at his tank reviews. Tasteyourjuice.com
He also has reviews on youtube. The Smoketech DCTs have some interesting drawbacks and the Pbusardo review is very entertaining. You really should take a look at it.

Cool, thanks. Are they hard to clean?

I swear by the Smoktech tanks. I use the 3.5 ml, with 1.5 or 2 ohm res. I have a Sev~Vari I, so can adjust the volts to obtain 10.5 watts, which is my personal sweet spot. I get 2 to 3 uses of a week each out of them. I have gotten 4 rotations a couple times. I boil in distilled or filtered water for 15 and rinse, then boil again for 15 minutes and rinse. Let dry for 24 hours, then soak in pure grain alcohol such as Ever Clear (only the consumable type, no isopropel or medical types) for a few hours. Blow out and let dry a couple hours and your ready. I don't wash mine one at a time. I wait for 3 or 4. If you do this, re-insert the white plug and store in Ziploc with the air squeezed out. You don't want the remaining juice to totally dry. You can get either tank size in the chrome finish with the 1st carto (pick any res) for $8.99 at DFWVapor. I also get most my juice there also. I believe James the owner is running a $10 for 30 ml sale right now. They are usually $14.00. Taste is objective but my favorites are.
1. Atomic Fireball
2. Hawaiian Punch
3. Orange Cream-cycle
4. Apple Cherry

Yeah, for the price < $10-12, they're o.k.. They're just kind of cheap. The plastic is pretty thin and easily cracked and the worst part is that they're slidy on the carto. You can easily pull the carto right out, especially if you're not using the flanged smoketech cartos. If you shake it too hard, the tank will slide right off the carto unless the drip tip stops it. They are what they are. For a budget tank, they're o.k.. Just be aware of their faults.

Have any of you had problems with the caps falling off? I saw the PBusardo review and I am a bit concerned about that happening. Also how do they compare to the ego mega dual coil cartomizers? That's what I am currently using for my ego.

I've never had a cap fall off, but they definitely were too slippery for my comfort. I tossed the one I had.
They're a different animal than the EMDCCs.
For an ego, I'd check out the ego Vision CE4+. They don't hold as much as a tank, but the taste of a filled carto can never compare to the taste of a CE based tank like the CE4+. Discountvapers.com has them with the longer wicks, so that's an improvement over the other ego Visions. There are a lot of counterfeit ego Visions out there, so be careful of where you get them.

Never. All my friend are using these also and no complaints. In fact the clear tanks are polypropylene instead of the standard poly-carbonate. This means they will holdup to cinnamon and acidic fruit flavors. poly-carbonate will haze and crack with cinnamon use.

And personally I don't shake mine like a can of spray paint to get them to come apart. Under normal, use I have not had any issues in 4 months of use. Buy what your comfortable with. But my suggestion is get the Smoktech if you want a good product at a great price. If you want to spend more money and get the Cadillac of tanks, check out Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Tanks
