Hi Judy & welcome to the forum. I also have a 510, and a lot of extra batteries and atty's, mainly bc with my 1st kit all 3 died within a month! So now I have lots of extra around just in case. I also went to HealthCabin and ordered some Mega Batteries, atty's & carts to try out. They are the same as the reguler 510 stuff but bigger & last longer(at least that's what I've heard, haven't tried them yet). To answer a few of your earlier questions: a PT=passthrough, this has a usb plug which allows you to hook directly to a computer so you don't have to worry about the battery dying I have one and love it! a PCC=Personal Charger Case, you can keep a battery charged as well as an extra atty & cartridges, so if your not near a plug you can keep this device charged and it will charge the batteries for you a few times. One question I have is what mg of e-liquid are you using? I started with 24mg, but it was a bit too much, so now I use 18mg most of the day & if I feel the need for more I always have some 24mg too. I would try different juices from other vendors, that's the only way to find one you like. Cignot has both VG & PG based e-liquid in different mg's. Do a search of the forums and see what kinds of e-liquid the forum members recommend. I hope this helps, PM me if you need to talk bc I too am fairly new and no one in my family smokes either. Good Luck to you, & just be happy with any progress you make with lowering the amount of analogues you smoke.

Greg,
Did pretty good today. Going to read your "vaping in public" site. And will try to use the 510 in the morning. I've only had, so far, 3 analogs today.
Not too bad, huh? My kit came with Marboro carts, I think 18 mg, high. I always smoke ultra lights. Been making my own cigs. for over a year. It's so cheap. Been buying pipe tobacco since it doesn't have all the taxss on it as the cig. tobacco. The store said it's the same thing as regular tobacco, except it's cut different. For $20, I would get 2 1/2 cartons. So it was really cheap.

Thanks! You will have to let us know how the mega batteries, etc. work for you. I'll check out their site too. Been e-mailing back and forth with Cignot where I ordered my 510. The girl is super nice. Great, now I know what those things stand for. I'll check those out too. I think I'm using Marboro 18 mgs. Just says ML High on the cart pkg. Kind of strong for me, but a nice throat hit. Hate saying that "throat hit".
I'm going to have to "stock up" on these things and will check the forum regarding e-liquid. Don't laugh, what is PM? And are you strickly using the 510?
Thanks for your help. The people on this forum are so nice. It's so nice to have others care and to help me with my stupid questions. Yay!

Having trouble using quotes. Not all the time. Tells me I have to make 15 posts or something like that. So had to start a new post.

CaptJay,
Thank you. Will definitely read your link. I just keep using 3 drops on my first cart. Is that okay to do? It works, but is kind of strong. Don't worry, I'm sure I will have more questions. But so far, I'm liking this. Yes, everyone is sooooo helpful. I'm very impressed with the responses I've received. Lots of helpful information.

Judy-
You're doing well, you're dedicated to making this work, it appears, and that makes all the difference!
You're correct about Terri and Vicki at Cignot. I had a similar experience with my battery but assumed I did something wrong. Two week after my order, someone here told me to just let Cignot know. I did...same day they had an envelope out to me with a new batt and a return envelope for the bad one.
Please post tomorrow about how it's going. I didn't mean to stress you out about starting the day with vaping, but it was recommended to me and I found it successful. First, without tarring my tongue first thing in the morning, the vapor tasted better from the get go.
I've also found it helpful the replicate smoking as much as possible, holding the PV like a cigarette and only using it for discrete periods of time, like 5 minutes of however long your cigarette typically lasted. Then I put it down and away.
Hope you find your dripping attempt successful. My mentor here thinks of his PV as his cigarette and his bottle of liquid as his lighter...so for him it's no more work than smoking was. I'm still sorting out what works best for me, but so far, I prefer filling cartridges.
Look forward to hearing from you tomorrow.

I will defenately let you know how the mega batteries and atty's work once I get a chance to try them out. I agree with you about Cignot, I recently ordered some e-liquid from them and they are really helpful there & shipping is fast too! The other members seem to have answered your question about Pm=private message(kind of like an email). It's always good to have a few extra parts on hand "just in case". I agree with you this forum is great and the people on it are really nice. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you have, none of them are stupid by the way, it's all normal. I still have some questions myself.

Hi Dean,
I used the 510 first thing this morning, but was having trouble with it. When I would draw on it, inhale, tasted nothing. And it had juice. Lots of vapor, but no taste. Wish it was consistant. Don't know why it isn't. I'm doing the same thing. Could the atomizer already be bad? I had another one that came with the kit. Maybe I'll try that one. But I am still using the same cartridge, filling it. Haven't used a new one since I received it on Saturday. Just want it to work the same as it did last weekend.

Having trouble with it today. Think I'll send Cignot, Vicky, an e-mail and ask her what she would recommend purchasing. I need liquid. I ordered another battery. I kind of like the manual one. Have both.
Not tasting anything today. Just vapor. Wish things were consistant. Getting tired of not knowing how it will work each time.

In the first few weeks, it can and does happen that people don't taste anything for a few hours, on rare occasions a whole day or two. That's just your tastebuds recovering and has nothing to do with the PV itself.
If there is lots of vapour and no taste, chances are, that is what you are experiencing.

When I had that badly, I could barely taste clove, and that is a very strong taste.

I just put on a new cart. and it seems to be better. Just will be glad to know what I'm doing and it be second nature to me. Will read up on sites that others have sent me.

Congratulations on your quitting analogs. :)

Wow, I see you are from Germany.

I totally know what you mean about the consistancy! I actually started another thread the other day about this. But it could be what Alex said, our tastebuds just havent fully recovered yet. Some days everything is working great and I think "Wow if it was this way every day, I'd never even want a cig again". Then other days, when things arent' working so well, it's really tough. But it helps to know there are others on the forum who have experienced the same issues. I decided yesterday to not buy any cigs and see if I can tough it out! I haven't had one since yesterday afternoon, so we'll see what happens. Just remember your not alone and we just need to keep trying and it will work out.

I had all these same issues with my 510 and I was really getting tired of messing with dripping and constantly filling or topping off cartridges and I decided to give the new 510 carotmizers a try. LOVE THEM...and will never go back to atomizers again! I fill them using the "condom method" and so far I've been able to fill one three times with no effect on performance at all. Seriously, this probably saved me from giving up on the 510.

You are doing better than me. Still smoking about 8 a day. Can't get the 510 to work all the time. I keep getting juice in mouth too. Just am getting frustrated. I loved it the first 2 days. I know there's a way to get this right every time. I just can't come up with the answer.

Hi all! I'm also new to the forums but have been vaping for a few weeks (just lurking around here afraid to join!) I learned the lesson of running out of juice completely the hard way. Four days of smoking yucky yucky analogs taught that lesson and it won't happen again! I find that if my tastebuds get a little numb vaping one flavor I can switch to a menthol and it solves the problem. Then back to my yummy carmel popcorn or banana nut bread both of which are relatively light flavors. Stick with it, it gets easier!

Welcome to the forum. And congratulations on not smoking. Wish I could say that. I still enjoy them. I try to only vape, but just can't do it yet. Guess after 40+ years, it's going to be harder to do. Although I've read many posts that have done it. I don't think the flavored juices would be like smoking, at least for me. Would think I was just having dessert. LOL
