It would be better to get an external charger and take the battery out and charge it, instead
of leaving it in the mod and charging it with the usb.
As far as knowing when to change the coils, the taste will be off, it will not have the
vapor it once did and will pull hard. How long the coils last depends on so many different
factors such as how often you're using it, what type of juice you're using in it, etc.
Some change the coils every few days, others can go weeks.
Cleaning the tank - rinsing with hot water is fine. Some use soap and rinse well.

It is best to have 2 batteries so that you can use one while charging the other and don't have to wait in order to vape.
Good chargers can be around $20-$40 dollars but are well worth the cost. If you are using the 26650 battery in that mega pico, in a charger it will still take around 6-8 hrs to charge and more if you try to charge it while still in the pico via the usb port. Do you really want to wait that long before you can vape again?

As to the coils, the above poster has explained it well. You will know when its time to change the stock coil in your tank. It just won't give out the same amount of vapor and won't taste as good. Some just automatically change their after a week or two, depending on the flavor used. Dark ejuices tend to gunk up the coils faster, such as tobacco, coffee, dessert or really sweet flavors will do that. Clear ejuice won't gunk up as quickly such as fruits, gums, candy, drink flavors.

Xtar and Nitecore are two of the most often recommended charger manufacturers. There are others who make good ones, but those two are decent quality at a reasonable price. Some people have trouble with Nitecore chargers damaging their battery wraps when they remove them.

I'll echo @Chakris suggestion to get a 4-bay charger at the beginning. A lot of people get 2-bays because they only need that capacity at first but later regret it. Also, it's best to charge batteries only when you're present and awake, so it can be better to have 3 - 4 batteries so you can go through a few while you're out and about and wait to charge them 'til you're hanging around at home.
