I'm not much help on that yet cardiac. I just bought a bunch of 3ml flavors, even though they're not the best deal.
My reasoning was not being sure of what I would like. This way I have the variety I need to try a lot of recipes. Once that's figured out I'll reorder bigger quantities of my favs.
I took the same approach to getting flavors as I did to trying juice.
Just my :2c:

3ml of flavoring in 30ml(27ml, to make a total of 30ml with flavoring) is 10% flavoring. Depending on how strong you want your mix, it may be too little.

Though if you're just starting out trying DIY I'd recommend just making 5ml mixes to test out flavors. Probably not with nic juice either, so you're not wasting the expensive stuff, so get a bottle of VG and PG too.

I recommend playing around with an ejuice calculator, there's a couple floating around here. I personally use E-juice Me Up.

10% flavoring is a good place to start. Some mix strong tobacco extracts at 2%, some mix regular flavors at 20%. Start with little tiny batches to see. At 10%, that would flavor about 30 ml of juice. There are several good spreadsheets and standalone programs to calculate, get some and play with them. Don't trust using drops, until you have measured how much they really are.

Start small, because a big bottle of flavoring that you end up not liking is not very economical at all!

While 3ml of flavoring is not very much ( on average I get about 3-5ml mixes out of it ), I would never purchase 4 oz of flavoring unless I know FOR SURE that I like the flavor.... in spite of the cost, the one + plus I have for 3ml size flavorings is that it allows me to sample more flavors before committing to a larger size bottle.

Once you have a established what flavors you like, then I say absolutely buy in larger sizes whenever possible.

In my opinion Ecigexpress is the best one stop vendor for flavours--prices are great--they sell Perfumers Apprentice(they call it Signature),Capella,Flavor Art ,Lorrans and others--always get orders out the same day .

30 bucks for shipping?.... No thanks... I'll stick with HappyVapor for my flavoring

If you are looking for flavoring in Canada the only place to go is ezvape.ca IMO

I'm a bit unsure of the "generic" flavors on that sight. I do intend on emailing about them though, before I order more flavors. I like the different sizes available and the bottle selections. I'm still waiting for them to get all there stock in too.

I order from the flavour apprentice in 1oz ( 30ml ) bottles accept for my favourite ones then 4oz is ususally enough although I did order 16oz of the peanut butter . I hope I end up using it all but if not I am sure I will use most of it . Maybe I'll make a batch of cookies up and use some of it that way :p

encee_rz--- Below is what I ordered from Ecigexpress on Dec 23--210 ml of flavours for $63.54 shipped--you must of missed the USPS First-Class Mail International Parcel option(I just checked and it's there). I love Happy Vaper and if it was even close price wise to order from them I would in a flash. If you look at the order and wonder why no Capella--they were out of stock at the time--now fully stocked at $5.99 for 13ml bottle.
