So, I've been a member of plenty of vB bulletins, and for some reason I do not see the option to add a signature to my profile. I was hoping to add one of those nifty "I haven't smoked in..." tickers, but can't. Is it a probational period thing, or do I need to donate to activate the signature. Thanks in advance for your response.

On the main page, select User CP, then select 'Edit Signature'.

Just a word of caution. Those banners that tell how long you have been analog free and whatnot, do take up valuable space. Also, I believe, they are a link from another site. Some have complained about getting spam after using them. Up to you. I do not use one.

pepper in fact there is spam in your cig it is a free ad to Electronic Cigarette Savings Banner Tool - Smoke Without Fire which the way i understand it is that site is yours and tied to a e-cig sales site so in essence that is promoting and getting other users to promote you even without their knowledge.

Well maybe we have a terminology problem there, because I equate SPAM to unsolicited messages.

The 'without their knowledge' comment cracks me up - My posts on this site are clearly marked as me being a supplier, the banner tool itself clearly links to the shop site. If anyone using it is not aware that it's hosted on the same site as an e-cig shop then, well, I'll not say much more :)

Anyway, I suspect my banner tools will outlive my stint at being a reseller, and maybe then I won't be treated as a scam merchant or con artist.

yes we do have a terminology problem to me spam is both the unsolicited email or message you may receive but also includes misdirected information. assume that someone took that sig code some where else are you listed as a supplier there maybe or maybe not. that would make it spam there depending on there rules. maybe the best thing to do is remove your sales links in and on the generator and let it truly be free. and the only link there would be would be to the maker and nothing else and yes a smart person could remove part os the html link to support you site

Well you see, the first page that had the generator on it had no link to the shop, then I got accused of being 'surreptitious' in my approach. So I've now gone out of my way to make sure that anybody that uses the tool is aware that it is hosted on a commercial site.

I guess you can't please everyone :)

I think I'll be leaving things as they are, people can choose whether or not to use a banner from a commercial site.

Last month I served over 1 million banners, and sold about 10 ecigs. I think even the most freshest of spammers would find that conversion rate not worth it :p
