EGO_EVOD_COMPARE.jpg

Here's a quick test to tell the quality of Ego/Evod batteries.

So what you can see in the above photo is, from left to right, a genuine joyetech Ego Twist, an Evod which may or not be genuine, and a no-name Ego style battery that came in a blister pack starter kit.

The quality test is to count the outside threads. The joyetech has 7, the Evod has 6, and the no-name has 5.

Of the three the Joyetech is still working well, the Evod still works well though it's newer and hasn't had as much use, and the no-name is dead with stripped internal threads so it won't screw onto a charger.

I have a smoktech winder nearing the end of its life at about 7 months. It has been a great battery. It has 5 external threads. The first poc starter kit battery I got died after a couple months fom the 510 stripping out like you mentioned also has 5 threads. I keep it around as a keep sake. So I would have to say that your observation realy has no bearing on the quality of the battery or its components Imo.
