I was where you are not long ago. I used HD Smoke and their cartomizers or Metro cartomizers. The batteries sometimes would not last as long as the other took to charge. You have a PCC so that probably is not a factor for you. It certainly was for me. I hated having to wait for the "green light" from my charger! The cartomizers must have been half dried out when I bought them because I never knew how long they would last. My rationing system was 5 puffs every half hour or 10 if I waited an hour. Still they would not usually last a whole day.
When I was researching V2 reviews I noticed an eGo mentioned. When I googled it I was led here to ECF. With ECF I found out about
Canvape and when I found the 1100 mah eGo passthrough I thought they had invented it for me! For twenty bucks this gadget had a battery that would last all day and when it was recharging I could still use it to vape! No more waiting for the "greenlight". With the passthrough, "red light means Go". I love it and use it with a Star Dust or a clearomizer. The clearomizer was a bit tough to learn to fill at first (like the first cigarette I ever rolled) but it was not hard to master. The Star Dust couldn't be easier. Screw top, drip to fill right from the bottle of juice and the top screws on so it doesn't leak.
That was my answer. YMMV
The cartomizers I saved from before can be filled. I use a wood screw to turn in a turn or so and pop the mouth end off and then add 10 drops, wait 10 minutes and add another 10. I usually let them sit for a day so that the liquid can soak in and they are about the same as before. Good for when I don't want a big battery in my pocket.
Don't worry, there are lots of nice alternatives. I just went for simplicity. And the difference in vapor with the big battery convinced me I didn't need a cig. I always felt lacking with the small one. Like you wrote, I wanted to draw on it all the time. I just wasn't getting enough.
Keep your wick wet.
