Hi,

I asked about this in the Mt Baker thread, but my post got into the middle of a long discussion about the Beatles, and didn't get any answers. Thought I would try again here.

I'm confused about the "flavor shots." Do people order the juice as is? Or is it necessary to add the "shots?" Also, does it cost extra to add the shots?

And, do you have to steep it, or can you use it right away?

After checking a local shop that sells 15 ml for $11, I can see that MBV is a much better deal for sure.

Thanks for any info about this.

I never order extra shots and the flavor is fine by me. It does cost extra, $0.25 per shot IIRC.

Some flavors need to steep and others are good out of the box. The more complex the flavor, the more steep time required, in my experience.

I recommend MBV highly to anyone that asks. Good liquid, excellent cost and the best customer service anywhere.

There is some debate over the flavor shots. The debate usually goes, "If the juice was good enough as is, it shouldn't/wouldn't need the extra flavor shots". Others just love the ability to customize their order.

I was one of the few people who early in my vaping journey ordered ONLY from MBV, and I went overboard on the flavor shots. It was my fault, but it made the juice unvapeable.

Learning what kind of PG/VG ratio and what juices don't need or deserve a "flavor shot" is entirely up to you, the consumer. After a while, you'll figure out what works best for you.

EDIT: Yes, some MBV flavors absolutely need to steep. A week at least, two weeks is optimal.

ok I do indeed steep Mt Baker juice for at least a week. Made a huge difference in the 7 or so flavors I have tried.

2 of my favorite flavors are from them and what I do is buy a 50 ML bottle with 5 flavor shots in 5xmy normal nic level. THen I take 10 ML of it and mix it with my own PG and vg to make another 50 ML. SO from the one 50 mL bottle I actually get 250 mL.

Yes flavor shots cost more. For me it about not having to order all the time.

Thanks for sharing your experience. As a mom and grandmother, used to eating the kids' and grandkids' leftover pizza, ha! I'm pretty easy to please where flavors are concerned. I'll probably order "as is."

I like to have stuff on hand, too. I hate to wait on orders, so thought I would stock up when I order.

I would say that some of their juice I have loved right off, some not so much. I didn't like Hawk Sauce very much at first and now it is my most used juice. I bought the Wild Cherry and I couldn't even vape it when I got it. Now I love to add it to others but it is a little harsh on it's own. I really like the banana and the spearmint tastes exactly like Doublemint gum. Their cola flavor tastes like vaping liquid from a chemical toilet, IMO. It is so bad to me I have to completely clean anything it touches. I also bought Moo Juice based on several great reviews and I DO NOT LIKE IT! So as with any company YOUR taste buds are going to be the only ones that matter. As far as steeping I haven't had to do a whole lot of it. a week took care of any that were helped by it for me. Hope that is helpful.

Oh, about flavor shots, I would order any flavor straight at first and add if you think it a little too delicate. I added a shot to some tangerine flavor on my first order and it made the juice a tad overpowering. Now the banana flavor I like I add a shot to. I tried an extra with the Hawk Sauce and I didn't like it as much as I do without the shot.
