What does R J Reynolds own/make/sell besides cigs and now Vuse? Sounds like it would be in our own self interests to boycott RJR products...and tell them why
totally agree....sounds like they are trying to curb regulations in their favor then roll out their ecig after the smaller guys are demolished.

Yea, one must be skeptical about BT "being on our side". Reynolds didnt take long to show their true colors. Dont trust any of them!!! Remember all of the BLU threads....."is it good or bad". Though Lorillard hasnt seemed to ruffle feathers yet cant trust them either. Couldnt trust BT with stinkys, cant trust them with e-cigs!! We are on our own as far as I am concerned!

That is Usually the way the Game is Played.
Disgusting! I lead a much less stressful life before joining ECF!! Kind of like "what you dont see cant hurt you" mentality.I didnt follow politics quite as much as I follow now. Reading this stuff is getting harder and harder to bear. I liked when people could make their own decisions "whether good or bad". Now some are proposing bills that completely take away our freedom to choose.

Those who are not "plugged in" to Politics, Reality TV News,
and Health Freedom movements ... Are a happier lot.

One can argue "they" should be "plugged in" ...
However, it's difficult to argue they are not a happier lot.

I used to be happier :(

I hear you… When I first starting vaping things were Very Different.

It wasn’t so much about Making a Buck as it was about Making Better Designs. Everything was New and people were coming up with Crazy (and Not so Crazy) ideas Left and Right. A Magical Time.

And reviews were done by Actual Users. Users who Didn’t have a Monetary Interest or an Axe to Grind. Just people saying what the Liked or Didn’t like about a Product. And how to Mod them to make them Better.

Unfortunately, e-Cigarettes / e-Liquids were doomed to Regulation from their Inception.

Because e-Cigarettes Didn’t fall under a Taxable Tobacco Classification. And to make matters worse, they took Taxes away from States and the Feds. That and Big Business didn’t get to be big by watching Someone Else pick up profits that were just laying on the floor.

I don’t like were the entire e-Cigarette/e-Liquid market is heading. But I am enough of a Realist to know that it was just a matter of time before Government and Big Business stepped in.

I feel sorry for many New Vapor’s because most of the ones I talk to are Completely Oblivious to what is going on with the FDA, Feds and Big Business. They just think that e-Cigarettes will keep going on like they Currently are. But maybe their Ignorance is Truly Bliss though?

So yes, I am Sad to see the Golden Age of e-Cigarettes has passed. But at least I got a chance to see it.

Reminds me of when I mentioned recently ...
I believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Several hammered me pointing out the government hasn't
paid much attention to that stuff for a long long time.

It's probably not what you were saying, but rather the words you used to express the libertarian view. There are many in the far-right political spectrum who are pretending to be libertarian every time they step up to the microphone, but it becomes obvious that they don't believe what their saying when you consider their voting record in congress. When the average person hears those same words from someone who honestly believes in the strength of the constitution, it's difficult at best to make the distinction. It's not you or the libertarian ideal that people take issue with. It is rather the extremists rhetoric spewed from people that use those ideals purely for political gain that is getting old, and the same holds true for conservatism and progressive ideals as well.

Back to the OP: If there wasn't such an onslaught of legislative battles being supported and funded by RJ Reynolds right now, I might actually find this amusing. Many of us saw this coming from a mile away while others (including some ECF veterans) said that we need BT money and political power to "win" this fight. If BT is allowed to continue on the course they're laying out, then the free market and small businesses that made this industry what it is today will lose, and so will a substantial segment of the existing consumers.

Just curious...

Who is going to stop BT?

That's a very good question, and I very much wish I had a definitive answer, but I don't. My only suggestion is that we (the community) can continue to grow a true grass-roots campaign, and that the current reputation of BT being "evil" will work against them. It's a very difficult balance because the message has to be concise enough to support THR and not leave enough room to allow that money interests to take control of the movement.
