Racism in America - from a minority viewpoint

I'm really not going to elaborate...or I won't until this gets moved to Outside. I will say that not one of my bosses has ever been anything but Caucasian.
Was there equally or more qualified minorities that got passed over? I am not trying to argue with you. My wife feels and gives me plenty of examples where she gets passed over even though she is way more qualified than men at her workplace. She is the only woman on her shift.
I really can't speak honestly from experience since I've lived in the South since I was of working age. I can say that the job market is widely dominated by Caucasian people and in a multicultural society one race does tend to prefer itself in the case of a crisis/hardship.
I wasn't going to comment on this thread again for fear of being thought racist or offending someone (not something I usually avoid anywhere BUT the ECF, I like it here and don't want to get myself banned) but I've got to say SurbitonPete.. this post of yours has stuck with me all day (10ish hours) and I had to say this comment makes me sad that someone would refrain from speaking their mind in a civil maner just because they're white
I will *ALWAYS* speak my mind in a civil manner as long as I have something to say. Life's too short and the consequences aren't worth a bit of my time to think about. As long as I can respect myself, I have nothing to fear.
I would guess he has the same thoughts as myself. That is simply that this subject is like religion and politics and points of view are very rarely going to be agreed upon. Everyone's lifestyle and upbringing creates an illusion of this is what really happens and very few people will agree at the end of the day. ALL races are racist! White people obviously oppressed blacks, germans went nuts on the jews, and now blacks have all the authority over political correctness. Blacks have NAACP but whites could never have such a orginization without it getting shut down. Blacks have the Black entertainment channel on cable, If their was a "white only channel" the minority community would scream to have it shut down immediately. My point is there are no races that are 100% non-racist. We all suck!
There's a brilliant racial sensitive type named Louis CK. He's light years beyond anyone else I've seen in understanding what race means in today's society. I think I would be remiss if I did not link his thoughts on this matter. Love you guys.

I'm Caucasian and my boss is African American. So in your scenario, racism is rampant and in mine, all is right with the world.............
Such is the danger when you measure the entire world against only your experiences...........
I honestly love people once I get to know them. Don't be creeped out. Learn to love people.
I have never been so closed-minded as to assume that my perspective is the only perspective.
My dog is a black lab and I think she never had the opportunities in life that other dogs had. All just because she's black. ) Just kidding of course. My point is that it's just all so silly when you think about it. racism makes no sense at all to me..

Personally I subscribe to the "Out of Africa" theory of evolution. We're all of the same origin in my book.
However humans love their boundries, their land, their religion, their cultural ethnicity and are willing to fight, kill and die for it. We will not come together as a species until those boundries are trancended.
Maybe it's becase I'm a European mutt... my ancestors are so diverse I'm 1/16ht of a lot of things. I have no history, no ancestry. So come on people, keep the inter-racial/culture/religion/ethnic unions going until we are all the same hue. Then we can find something else to fight, kill and die for.
