Random Acts of Vaping Kindness

I recently bought my Smoktech SID and I love it. Started watching videos of rebuilding coils for Evod and ProTank. Went to my local shop and bought the wire and wick and got to talking to the owner. He asked me if I was serious about building my own coils and I told him that I wanted to take a run at it and save a few bucks and that I liked to tinker. He smiled and started telling me about RBAs and my face lit up like a 5 year old making a new discovery. He saw the intrigue I had with it and GAVE me a brand new RSST and his personal Natural and said "Get your feet wet with this, its how I learned" and went to get my supplies. I was in shock.

A smoker is so stingy to the point they won't let you bum a cigarette from a brand new pack, but a vaper will give you his own personal equipment and vendors will give you free juice just to try it. I love this community.

Anyone else had a random act of vaping kindness since they started? Please share.

Most all of my experiences with a B&M shop has been good. I, like you, wear my heart on my sleeve and people can tell when my brain is soaking up what they are telling me. I spent over an hour in the first shop I went too. The gentleman worked with me getting the 2 eGo 1100mah bat's and 3 clearo's, a charger and a case. The shop I go to now is run out of the owners house in a spare bedroom with a door to the outside. She will work with you and will also take juices back if you don't like them and give you another. I think everyone shares in the joy of getting people off the analogs.

Keep on vaping. Tell others of your experience.

The b&m store I go to gives free samples. I went in to pick up a few small things, and decided to sample a "rum and cola". With it being such a thick, strong flavor, the owner INSISTED that I take a free cartomizer to sample it with before I put it in my vivi nova so I did not have to spend all the time cleaning it. Great people there

I lost my very first battery a few days after I got it ... it was a very crucial time for me since I was finally making a lot of progress quitting smokes. I felt like it would be the end of the world as we know it if I didnt get another one that second. I couldn't go backwards when getting to that point was as hard as it was. I was so distraught that I didn't know what to do with myself, so I turned to this forum just to have someone to talk to that would understand my pain & sorrow. No one else could possibly understand what I was going through, except true vapers. As stated earlier in this thread this really is a tightly knitted community, we all stand strong in this together, and because we are many & unite as one big solid unit we are a pretty powerful force to be reckoned with, lol. I already feel like I'm in some kind of "special club" or close group of friends you care about even if u never met them. It's incredible!

Anyways, now that I've gone off abt the community and their kindness as a whole, the whole point of this post was to tell my own story abt someone who was very kind to me, and they're a member. In fact they were the very first person to post in my thread abt losing my Spinner. I'm not entirely sure it's appropriate to mention names here. Oh, ok, ok if u insist I can give u some hints. Their name is "S*i*L *o* s*o*i*g" now just fill in the blanks, BAM! Yeah, u know them! ;) Anyways, this sweetheart offered to send me a spare battery they weren't using. For free. Nothing. We didn't know each other. They paid for shipping. They had to go out of their way to mail it at the post office (and u all know money is priceless). They wouldn't accept reimbursement. They sent it during the very next shipping cycle. I got it in 2 days. U can't imagine how appreciative I was. I didn't even know what to say, I mean ... how do you thank someone enough for something like that?

That's my story (And I'm stickin' to it!). Oh yesh, in case u were wondering ... the battery did arrive

Never had a problem with smokers being stingy. I've handed them out and had them handed back. Personally myself no experience with freebies from B&M vape shops(other than winning a contest on here and a few samples in the mail). My son has gotten a couple of bottles of juice and an ego battery from a friend of his who works at a shop.

Yep. this community is GREAT!!!

Here's my story........

I started vaping in 2009. I was an immediate lover of all things VAPE!! Put the cigs down, no problem, for almost a year. That was until I found out my Dad had cancer. It's no excuse, but the stress from that put me right back on cigarettes MONTHS after being totally free of them.

FAST FORWARD>>>>>>>>2013

While unpacking some stuff I ran across an old "pen style" 510 I used to use, some old 10440 batteries and 1 single coil drip style atty.
I had heard that a vape shop had opened in my hometown and even though I live in Virginia now, I made the 50 mile drive to that shop and bought a bottle of Port Menthol juice.

I got home and that old "pen style" battery was charged, so I screwed the atty on, dripped some Port Menthol on and vaped for the first time in years. The next few days I still smoked but kept the 510 in the house for "indoor action" as I didn't smoke inside the house. It was nice not going outside every 30 minutes.

I decided to get online one night and visit the "old stomping grounds" (ECF), maybe see if any familiar faces were still active. BOY had this place grown!!! While on here, I reread some of my old posts, revisited some mods I had made and decided to build a boxmod. I did that.....the very next day.

I vaped on that boxmod for around 2 weeks and by this time had decided to be a little more active here so I joined in on a few contests to stick my toes in the water and MAYBE get some free juice. One of the contests I entered was from an old friend on here.........Issac (Iken). After recognizing me, he PM'd me and we caught up some. I told him about my Dad. I told him about my divorce. I told him about moving from home into Virginia and trying to restart my life and my commitment to quitting the smokes again. All of this was "catching up".....nothing more. I had a nice boxmod, a place to buy juice and hardware.

BUT......

Issac wouldn't go for just that. Issac, being the stand up guy he is, just would not have that. He out and out, in the middle of a thread, says......."Smiles, send me your new address. I wanna send you some stuff to help you out." And THAT he did!!

Days later I received a package from Ikenvape. It contained a Knight Rider VV Mod, an 18650 battery, a 5 pack of dual punched IKV cartos and a 6ml tank. (I honestly think if the man coulda drove it here himself, he would've. Issac cares about his friends and his customers). Since then I've been off the cigs completely. Not looked back once.

You wanna talk about kindness...........I can tell ya about kindness, my friends. Issac, Iken, Vendor, Friend..........It doesn't really matter what you call him. I call him "homie" now. But what I can't call him is GREEDY.

He's a great guy, an honest vendor and more so......an honest person.

That's KINDNESS.

Thought I'd chime in from the opposite side of the line, I hate taking charity from anyone, even if it's not really charity, but I'm always more than willing to give.. GF's brother was trying to quit smoking, found out he'd tried cigalikes and they just weren't cutting it. He got a package from me three days later with no warning, couple eGos, clearos, pair of chargers, and probably a total of a quarter liter of liquid in various strengths and flavors. As far as I know it's worked wonderfully for him, even if he is still annoyed I wouldn't take any money for it. (The juices were from large bottles I bought, batteries were spares, etc, basically I wasn't out any money)

Also sent a kit off to another friend who wanted to try 'em but knew nothing about vaping, she also kept insisting on paying me back and I refused, cause it was just a couple old cigalike batteries and some DIY nic-free juice and mini clearos, but I wind up with a box of PayDays on my doorstep a week later.

Guess the reason I'm posting this is not because I want to come off as some kind of do-good-er or make myself feel overly generous or anything, but just to say that it goes both ways, the giver can feel just as happy as the receiver. Knowing I helped out two people who have been like family to me was an immeasurable happiness, and you can't put a price on it. I absolutely love the community on here, and I can say for sure if you're in a giving spirit, or just having a rough time or want to try something new, check out the PIF forum, there's an emergency needs section for those who NEED a battery/juice because their gear broke, they got laid off, etc. Of course there's also juice/gear swap threads, great if you want to try a flavor and have some stuff you don't like, see if you can swap it, for $2 in postage it's far better than dropping another $10 on a juice you may still not like.

Even though I'm a poor recent college grad I've seen the love in this community. I watch all the deal sites and make sure friends who are interested know the best prices for what they are looking at. Most of them are in College or also recently graduated.

I don't see a need for a large amount of mods and backups. I have one mech and one apv, I gave away my egos and iclear 16s to friends interested in vaping and let them have juice that I wasn't going to use. I was in a fraternity in college and now my whole chapter is slowly switching to vaping( they like the flavors and that they can "smoke" inside) I just feel good that by letting people try my devices and maybe giving them a starter set up i have introduced them to vaping.
