Have you tried FA Nonna cake? I'm looking for a cake to make pineapple upside down cake. Is the Inw lemon cake real lemony, like MRE (idk what else to compare this to lol) poundcake, or very light on the lemon?

I didn’t really care for nonnas cake. I kept getting a licorice taste from it. I didn’t think the lemon was really strong in the lemon cake. The recipes I used it in usually used additional lemon flavoring. I liked the WF fluffy white cake when I did a sft on it.

I got some one shot with floral notes. It is reasonably decent probably for someone who LIKES that crud. To me, on the inhale, it's like soap and on the exhale, it's like perfume.

Maybe one (or more?) of the flavors are alcohol based? If so, leaving the cap and tip off for a few days might eliminate that. Otherwise, yeah, the drain.

Well I haven't tossed it. I have made it a habit to keep my mixes (failed after fixing attempts) for one year. I was pleasantly surprised by pink lemonade after a year. LOL.

Maybe I just love VERY ripe citrus.

I am dubious about this mix but it staying.
It was a pleasure knowing you. :)

I did a tester of Nonna's cake a few weeks ago at 2.5% and i see why people get licorice from it but to me it was more of a particular lightly spiced profile, maybe like allspice, clove, nutmeg, that kind of thing. As far as pineapple upside down cake, I think Nonna's Cake would make a nice support flavor with another straightforward cake, maybe 1% or less. Would help with darker carmelized cake and sugar notes.

I got some Nona's cake this last order but I haven't mixed with it yet. I kind of got it because it sounded good and I only like good cake..:

IDK what to really mix with cake not enough occurs to me, I will have to look at recipes I think.

Oooh. My next step as an evolution as a mixer, I've always gone freestyle.

I have made a decision with a heavy heart. I'm making small testers of ESPECIALLY some weird stuff I got with no nic, I mean, I don't want to waste it.

This is my recipe for Pineapple Upside Down Cake:

    3% Cake Batter (CAP)
    3% Biscuit (IN)
    2% NY Cheesecake (CAP)
    2% Pineapple (TFA)
4% Vanilla Custard (CAP or TFA)

As always YMMV on percentages. The addition of cheesecake sounds weird, but somehow it works! I really like the CAP Cake Batter for that pound cake type taste. I haven't mixed this one in a while, sounds like today is the day!

BTW, I asked Drew from Bull City Flavors about his customer base. He said the vast majority of his flavorings are sold to make e-liquid. Non e-liquid sales are negligible. Of those for e-liquid, his sales tended to be 50/50 between juice vendors and DIY slugs like us. However, he said recent trends are shifting more toward DIY slugs.

So did you try it shake and vape? I thought cheesecake usually needed a long steep?
