I wouldn't recommend Sourcemore for the Solos. That was what my last order was and they waited almost 3 weeks to ship out my order. I might have waited longer but I threatened to dispute the charge with PayPal and they finally shipped.

BTW, I think @FranC was only looking at US stores for the Solo.

Sorry to hear that. I’ve ordered several times and have had good luck. I just got some pods in the mail for my maxpod the other day. You have to watch though to make sure it isn’t preorder. I have another on the way from them that shipped the day after I ordered.

I shipped something today using PayPal shipping and it was $7+ for 8 ounces. I didn’t think out the door price for a max at $35 was bad. The mod was 28 and the shipping was a little over seven dollars.

Shipping may be less--I just noticed I have a bunch of stuff in my cart. So still cheaper than Kanger.

I do. It gets a great deal of use. I haven't found that it pops every kernel, as the hype claims, but the old maids it produces are exactly the kind I like. I mean, they're the best part!

One piece of advice: if you got the basic model with the nylon gear, treat it very gently. They break/come off easily. You may want to shell out for the stainless version. If you've already ordered one, maybe you can change the order. The customer service is pretty responsive.

P.S. wouldn't the mechs of popcorn makers be plain old pans?

Yeah, I suppose the regular old sauce pan would be.. and that's what I used tonight. I shelled out for the stainless with the metal gears. I eat the old maids too!
