I love apple in recipes. Unfortunately a lot of apple bakery recipes also have cinnamon, which I cannot stand to vape.
I can't stand cinnamon vapes. Yuck.

The FA Apple Pie in my recipe has a tiny bit of spice in it but I don't taste it. There is a tiny bit of cinnamon but at 1% anything spicey is covered up by the other flavors. I don't know why Flavour Art named it 'Apple Pie' cause IMO it's more of a basic pie crust than anything else. Perhaps at 3% the cinnamon and spice might stand out. IDK, I've never gone that high.

From HIC's notes: "Savory crust with some flavor of FA Apple and light spice that many people will not notice. Apple Pie is not very sweet or fruity. The apple flavor is easily covered by other fruits, especially dark fruits and berries, so adding a small touch of Apple Pie to your other fruit can make a tasty pie."

FA Cookie is similar in that it's super neutral. No spices. Not sweet compared to other vendors cookie flavors. In my recipe it helps to lower the overall apple flavor and add to the crust/cake foundation.

I use FA Cookie in the same way Fran uses INW Biscuit. Hmmm, that gives me a new idea, pairing the two in a recipe. :w00t:

I have used FA Cookie several times with good results. I might have to get a small bottle of Apple Pie. Is the SSA Apple Strudel the same thing? Meaning is it lacking in spice too?

Good morning random folks :) Have you any plans today?
I would say catching up here, but, well... impossible. Probably work on holiday-fying the house. Himself is minus his vehicle, so I’m carless today. At least that’ll force me to get stuff done here. I need to refill the stash. I took most of what I had (ready or not) to Moms because last minute long trips don’t leave room for pre-planning.

Did I miss any must make recipes?

I’m with you on the cinnamon. I kept trying thinking it was the brand/recipe/%, but nope. I was set on trying another egg nog recipe again this holiday, until @stols001 reminded me my spice dislike from last years which ended up down the drain. Another case of food vs vape likes not being the same.

I'm also testing my creamy butterscotch cookie recipe. This one is a total keeper.

Creamy Butterscotch Cookie [not too creative, I know ]
FA Madagascar (vanilla classic) 3%
FA Vienna Cream 0.8%
FLV Cream 1%
FA Cookie 1.5%
FW Butterscotch Ripple 3.7% (always needs help)
FA Butterscotch 2% (it's Euro, so less sweet)
FW Butterscotch 0.75% (a lovely true butterscotch)
FA Caramel 1.5% (Euro. There to balance the b-scotch's)

IMO there is no single butterscotch in DIY that can convincingly stand on it's own. Many are good but from my experience each needs the help of others in order to make a convincing b-scotch.

FW Butterscotch Ripple is a great flavor but it's super light on b-scotch. FA b-scotch and caramel are Euro, in that they are not sweet like most in the USA associate with either. FW Butterscotch is very much like the hard b-scotch candy we are most familiar with.

The FA Cookie can easily be swapped with INW Biscuit. I've made this recipe both ways. I used INW Biscuit at 1%. It's good with either although I prefer FA Cookie in this one.

@NolaMel, my fellow seeker of "all things butterscotch" I am thinking you would like this one. :D

ShowMeTwice I have used 1% FA Apple Pie, and 3% cap cinnamon danish swirl together once and all I tasted was cinnamon. Then again 4 drops of Flavorah's Rich Cinnamon in a 120ml overpowered their Ginger. The Flavorah's can be so tough to balance when working in drops. :(

:lol::lol:, himself would die if he broke his precious truck!!!

No, Himself has my dad’s truck. Mom only drove it occasionally over the last ten years since he passed, so when she gave it to himself, it needed some upkeep done. It was only a couple years old when he died, and has super low mileage, but sitting wasn’t its friend. Every month we chunk off a bit of the list.

I don't find SSA Apple Strudel to be spicey. To be fair I didn't SFT it. And if I did SFT it I have an inkling it would be sweet based on the smell.

That is one reason I don't like doing SFT's. Once I get a flavor in my brain it's hard for me to lose it. It's best for me to just jump in and mix with new flavors. But there are a few I SFT, strong ones mainly at super low %'s, or drops, to get a feel.

With many of the Flavorah's I will only do drops. But I think I know what you mean. Whereby, if I only put one or maybe two drops in 30ml, or whatever, I won't taste it. Right? Less truly is more, I think.

Your experience with CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl reminded me of a recipe Wllmc (VU) created 2019-07 for our @Heartsdelight called Apple Cream Cake.

I made it and vaped it after 3-5 days. And I really liked it. Although as it aged the CAP CDS came to the front in a BIG way. At that point I dumped it because the cinnamon was too strong for me. IMO CDS is a tricky flavor to use if your not big on cinnamon.

I made his recipe without CDS and subbed in a cake flavor. I liked that much better.

If I made 10-15ml of Wllmc's recipe and vaped it before the cinnamon took over I would be fine with it. I'll make it again, cause it is good, but I won't go higher than 0.25% with CDS.

ETA: Fixed recipe screenshot to get rid of link name to VU. Pretty sure the full VU is still censored here. Oooops.
