I got my taxes done and since I haven't gotten a stimulus check yet, I'm getting a refund. I'll probably have to pay it back if the check does arrive. I also got
through to the IRS, after
three days of trying to call. I got sent a $700 bill with a
threat to levy based on last year's taxes. Come to find out, my daughter didn't qualify for Obamacare last year, despite only working 10 hours a week as a student and me on disability. Instead of explaining it, they just sent a tax bill last March, but I couldn't contest then because the phone lines were shut down due to the lockdown. No further communication until this levy notice. I managed to set up a payment plan to stop the levy, but I'm peeved about the bill. Furthermore, my daughter couldn't even get on Obamacare this year without paying $350/month. And that is as an independent file. I've told her to apply for Medicaid, but she's been turned down in the past because she wasn't pregnant or had kids. A girl can get covered if she gets knocked up, but not if she goes to school. Does anybody else see something wrong with this picture?
