@Zazie, can you please do me a huge favor?
Delete my original caramel apple crumble cake from your blog and replace it with this one? This one is much better.
Caramel Apple Crumble Cake
FW White Cake 2.5%
WF Crumble Topping 0.5%
VT Vanilla Cream 1.5%
FA Milk 1%
FA Fuji Apple 1.5%
FA Apple (Stark) 0.5%
FA Caramel 0.75%
Suggested steep time = 3-4 weeks. The longer it steeps the better it is.
It's a light cake and a bright mix. The cake base (top 4 flavors) makes a nice moist, and creamy, tasting cake base. FW white cake is light. The WF Crumble Topping brings that wonderful crumble topping goodness found on certain bakery shop donuts and coffee cakes. I am convinced that less is more with WF CT and 0.5% is about perfect in a bakery mix.
VT Vanilla Cream and FA Milk work well in adding the creamy filling I was after. They also add a pleasant mouth feel. The FA apples combined make a very authentic tasting apple. Caramel is on the lighter side and there is just enough to leave you wanting more. There is a light caramel taste on the back end.
The apples and caramel can be removed leaving a nice cake base that you could then choose your own fruits etc..
Thank you Zaz
