I am going to meet her tomorrow.
Do it. I wish I could have more than one dog, but my dog is the jealous type.

Good afternoon. I finally mixed @charlie1465 ’s Mango Cream. It is most excellent. And simple too. I’m really enjoying it. I’m debating on whether I want to cut my grass for the last time this season, or clean bathrooms, or both. Neither will be fun.
It is really good isn't it? I haven't gotten tired of it yet. I switch between the plain Mango Cream and the Mango-Pink Guava version.

Friggin gorgeous.... Buster's predecessor was Kai, a caramel white. Our dogs are family dogs, but not people friendly.

Beautiful daughter. Kai was gorgeous!!! Most GSD's look up to, or recognize, one family member as the Alpha and the rest of the family as pack members. And they constantly test in order to gain a higher status in the pack. It's in their dna.

We've trained all the GSD's we've had to be people friendly. They very instinctively know when someone is a threat and will alert.

We got Buster just as Covid hit. Sadly we couldn't socialize him like the rest of our previous dogs. It's resulted in a potential liability of sorts,I am having problems bringing him under control. We have a cleaning lady that comes every Friday and Buster does everything in his power to attack her. He loves other dogs, super gentle with cats, but it's us hoomans he hates.

    Somewhere between here and there
Afternoon folks. I got the old board replaced under the back door. I can do stuff like that but hate it and have less patience the older I get. Anyway, it was my wife that noticed the corner of that board rotting. I should thank her. The storm door is the next thing to get replaced in the spring. However, I’ll pay someone to do that. Last time we bought one for the front door Lowe’s was running a special where they installed it for $70. I would have paid twice that to have it done. I put one in at the old house and it took me forever. One and done. Never again.

I am going to meet her tomorrow.
Are you able to take Buster with you? To see if they will take to each other? How is she with women? Does she have any training? Are you able to take her for a short walk on your own? Try giving her a dog treat. Is she gentle in taking it? How is she with toys?

We rescued a GSD male some years back. His name was Brighton. Beautiful pure bred red sable. He was ok for about a week. Got along fine with our other GSD and was fine with our cats. Then one day while walking him he tagged me real good and hard just below my knee.
    P7250053cr.jpg

It was sudden and for no reason at all. There was no warning and no change in his body language. Afterwards he knew he did wrong. It was written all over his body language. I'm no stranger to getting tagged by GSD's but that's usually with a bite suit and sleeve. This however was very unusual.

Turns out the previous owner used an electric shock training collar on him. They neglected to tell us "how" they trained him using that collar. We checked his neck and there were many "bumps" all around his neck on his skin from the shock collar. Those should not be there even if an electric collar is used. So, that told us they had the power cranked on the collar. In other words they had no clue what they were doing or the proper way to use that collar. I am no fan of that kind of training. It doesn't have a place in training with any canine at all.

We took him up to Angie's place and tried unsuccessfully to work with him for about a month. Each time I wore a bite suit. I got tagged a few more times. Each time he knew he did wrong, body language. After much discussion with Angie and the other trainers we all decided putting him down was in his (and our) best interests.

That one still stings. Couldn't trust him though. I was ...... and really wanted to use an electric shock collar on his previous owners. Would have served them right in my book. We never dealt with rescues again.

I don't say any of that to scare you Skeebs. Wouldn't do that to you Bro, you know that. It's just "stuff" to keep in mind when it comes to rescues. :)

I wish I lived closer. I'd bring Carli over and together we could get Buster squared away with some training. Buster is still young enough to be trained in order to work that out of him.

All you need is a proper training collar, a muzzle and a 6 foot lead. The muzzle would be temporary. Also need some willing to socialize with GSD people. Your strong arms, and teaching him, so he understands, that you are the Alpha in the pack. He should take all cues from you when around people. And I honestly don't think it would take very long to get him straight.

Some training, with a bunch of patience, and I'm confident Buster would be fine with people. He can do this Skeebs!
