Yesterday there was a huge fire here at a Walmart fulfillment center. It's still burning, luckily nobody was hurt. It was 15 miles away but the dirty burning smell still hits you as soon as you go outside. Evening yesterday the sky to the north of me was black. They ordered a bad air day for the city and people within a few miles of the site got a shelter in place order for 24 hours, they still have ash falling from the sky on the west side.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my weeklong vacation. I’ve rested, I’ve worked, I’ve played, and not once have I thought about work (except to type out the four letter word just now… ).

Repainting the wrought iron railing has taken us some time. We just put the second coat of primer on and letting it dry before we start putting the black paint on in a couple of hours. Second coat on Saturday and we will be done. We are having to work around the spring rain. Angle grinding the rust and paint off was tough and we are still sore.

We had 13 people at my son’s bday party last night…fun times! He’s 22… Well I’m going to cut the back yard now. We filled up my gas cans for the year this morning. Expensive grass mowing…

    Do they know the cause?

Making some progress with the TC. Recoiled a couple with spaced coils, TY @ShowMeTwice

Now they are more usable. They do hit temp control, I can hear the coil going on and off sometimes, but I still get decent hits.

I only had a little wire on a 30' roll so I ordered more 28g and some 26g to experiment with.
Excellent. I'm happy I was able to help.

I vape TC on half of the 8 mods currently in my rotation.

From what I read yesterday you will be fine if you stay with 28g SS316L. There are plenty of folks still using 28g wire w/TC.

26g 316L will be a slightly slower ramp-up, for the first couple hits, but once warm will consistently give you decent hits like 28g does.

Airflow will also play a role in hitting Temp Protection. When I ran my OG KFL's and Russian's in TC I made sure the AF was wide open. The OG Lemo's have more air so those will be fine.

Hi friends, just mixed up some classic Strawberry biscotto, thanks @FranC
Might have to enjoy it sooner than later, would rather be later to steep but it is what is and I had a hankering for it.
    Much glad you like.

This one has steeped enough. A nice banana taste without being overpowering. The peanut butter gives a subtle nutty taste. Steep for 2-3 weeks.

Now, allowing for the fact that I like to get hit over the head with flavor and I Super Sweet everything, you may have to adjust this recipe to taste.

    ****Edited to Add****

I still can't figure out how to upload a recipe. :(

Let the moaners moan and the whiners whine. Who cares? I certainly don't.
Those moaners led to the return to standard and daily pretty quickly last time around.

As I said before, it makes no difference to me one way or the other in terms of how I live my life. But the notion of switching to full-time DST irks me on an intellectual level. Why go for the option that failed before? What most people dislike is the twice-yearly change. Why not give year-round standard a try instead?

I totally hear ya Zaz. It seems to me, from his web page outlining the change, the republican senator perhaps doesn't realize, or worse, does not know, this was tried previously.

And I'm neither for or against making one or the other permanent. It just doesn't matter to me.

Maybe send a letter to the "originator" of the glorious bill known as the Sunshine Protection Act of 2021 (S. 623). That would be none other than Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL). ;)

Here is his web page with his contact info: Rubio’s Bill to Make Daylight Saving Time Permanent Passes Senate

Here are some of his extraordinary "claims"...

"[...] I think the majority of the American people's preference is just to stop the back and forth changing. But beyond that, I think their preference is — certainly at least based on today's vote, and what we've heard — is to make Daylight Saving Time permanent. I'll just tell you a couple of the reasons why I think that's important."

"There's some strong science behind it that is now showing and making people aware of the harm that clock switching has. We see an increase in heart attacks and car accidents and pedestrian accidents in the week that follow the changes."

"The benefits of Daylight Saving Time have also been accounted for in the research. For example, reduced crime as there's light later in the day. We've seen decreases in child obesity. A decrease in seasonal depression that many feel during Standard Time."

"And then the practical one, one that I've witnessed with my own eyes…. We're a country [in which] we desperately want our kids to be outside, to be playing, to be doing sports, not just to be sitting in front of a TV or a computer terminal or playing video games all day."

That last one makes me laugh. Ya ain't gonna get kids exercising if they don't want to. Obesity, very sadly and disgustingly, rules the roost in America.

He goes on with many more of his so-called 'practical reasons' for changing to DST permanently in the link I provided.

No news on that yet. They think the smoke might be toxic from the vast variety of stuff in the warehouse. Don't know if Walmart ships any Lithium batteries, hope it wasn't that.
