Those both have three car garages and are probably between 2200-2500 square feet.

Please stop...

We're also paying 7 bucks for gas, not to mention our taxes--the highest in the nation, I think. Trying to remember why we're still living here...

Doubled? That stinks.

Home insurance for us went up $12 / month, a few years ago. Our car insurance rates actually dropped a decent chunk not that long ago. I retired, so 35 miles a day going to work, dropped to 35 miles a month. Kids no longer lived here, and Michigan changed some laws that made rates go down.

But like you said, everything else is sure going up!

Doubled? That stinks.

Doubled over the last two or three years, to be exact. I asked our agent about that, they were very apologetic but said it was statewide. They had so many claims--wild fires, drought, flooding.

Wow. Just wow. Seriously, where I live, 3 or 4-bedroom one story houses start at 1M.

About 8-9 years ago, I paid 135k for a 4br, 3 bath house on a corner lot. It had a fireplace, a formal den and formal dining room, a large living room with a connected game room area, a separate storage building/garage, and a well. It was only one story.

Yeah, they're an insurance company. Heaven forbid they might have to accept risk

Real estate is a mess. We've been trying to find a smaller house, one-story, nothing under a million bucks--and those are fixer-uppers. And no inventory at all as of late.

I have two young children, just starting their adult lives--I have no idea how they will ever be able to buy a house in SoCal.

They should move to Indiana. I had a VP back in the 90's who moved here from Connecticut. For tax reasons he needed to buy a house that was the same price as his house in Connecticut. The only way he could do that was to buy a mansion on a reservoir in the most expensive area in town, and have the previous owner construct a 100' long canal from the reservoir to the back of the house, with a big fancy boathouse, as part of the deal.

I was down in San Diego for a week when my GS graduated from Marine training. Loved that place but we couldn't afford a broom closet down there.

I'm up, been up for 2 hours but I plan on going back to bed so I haven't had coffee. I have a foot Dr. appt later and then go pick up a shotgun I ordered a week ago. Can't wait to try it out.
I assume you have a shooting range close by.

There are but not for shotguns. South of Vegas there's Sloan and BLM land where you just go and shoot all you want. That's where I will go, hopefully with the SIL. He just bought a shotgun also.

I’ve been vaping two 3 flavor recipes in my Dvarws. One is so-so and the other is pretty tasty.
    @Zazie with thanks :) @NolaMel

    3 Flavor Berry Cake
    Cap. Custard Cake 3%
    VTA Boysenberry 2%
    FLV. Jammy Berry .75%

    That sounds great.

Good morning. We are getting some rain which is a nice break from the heat. Hopefully it cools things down a little.
I don't know which makes me break a sweat quicker, these temps or the thought of my next electric bill.
