Philly Cake

WF Philadelphia Butter Cake 2%
WF Fluffy White Cake 1%
SSA Borneo Vanilla 1.5%
INW Shisha Vanilla 1%
WF Cream Filling 1%
FLV Cream 1%

Initially tried this with only WF Philadelphia Butter Cake in the mix. It's a really good bakery flavor but weak on the cake side. Added WF FWC to build-up the cake notes. That made it a more complete cake profile.

Wanted a bright and punchy vanilla note. SSA BV + INW SV added that. Enjoying the cream pairing of WF CF and FLV Cream.

I liked vaping that as a standalone bakery mix.

Then I took 5mls and added FA Blood Orange + FA Royal Orange. Nice.
Also took 5mls and added FA Raspberry. Tasty.

As a base this will work with any fruits, a nut, or chocolate or an ice cream.

@Zazie can you please add this to your blog? TIA :)

    Somewhere between here and there
I bet you are. Hope your weekend goes well.
Well, I know I won't be installing the ceiling fan in our bedroom this weekend since the downrod didn't get delivered yesterday. We still haven't picked the hinges and pulls for the bathroom vanity so maybe we can go look for those.

    Sounds like a plan.

Was told that while I was napping my Angel cat opened several kitchen cabinet doors while yappin' up a storm. One of the other cats has learned from her how to do this.

I'm waiting for Angel to teach the other cats the immense joy found in unrolling the toilet paper.  So far she hasn't done it up here, which surprises me, it's been a city thing.

You better hope she doesn’t teach them all how to unroll toilet paper. I don’t think the other residents of the house will appreciate it.

I had a cat once that managed to open the fridge door while I was out and grab a whole roast chicken. I kept it closed with duct tape after that.

Angel doesn't do it all the time. But when she does, she unravels some, then starts cruising around with it in her mouth which then unravels a lot more. She taught herself how to do that as a kitten.

Yeah, but if you train them right, they'll bring you an almost fresh roll :)

@ShowMeTwice I know you’re a vanilla guy but what’s your thoughts on a cream base?

For a basic cream base I like using a couple creams with one or two vanillas. If I want to feature one cream over the other I'll use it at a higher percent. That way I get the featured one out front and the other cream is supporting it. Vanilla(s) could be tucked in behind the creams or featured.

If I wanted only creams then I would do something like a simple 2:1 mix ratio with whatever creams I wanted for a base. WF Vanilla Cream Extra 2% and FLV Cream 1% - - - as an example, that would feature the WF VCE. If you wanted more creaminess then up the %'s slightly.

If you wanted a slightly tangy cream base then add a little FW Yogurt.

0.5% - 0.75% CAP Milkshake would further thicken a cream base. It wouldn't be noticed as a milkshake used that low. Thinking TFA Malted Milk would do the same.

Also, adding a little FA Custard Premium, or another custard, to a cream base works nicely. As little as 0.5% FA CP will boost the creams and also add complexity to the creams. At 0.5% FA CP is not experienced as a custard flavor. At that % it's an enhancing additive.

My Bright Creamy Vanilla is a nice rich creamy base.

    INW Shisha Vanilla 1.75%
    FA Madagascar 1.75%
    WF Vanilla Cream Extra 1.25%
    SSA Clotted Cream 0.75%

Looking at the percents one might think the vanillas sit out front. Not so. The creams being the more highly concentrated flavors take center stage.

I've since mixed that minus the SSA CC and used 1% SSA Whipped Cream. Same result, a bright cream base, just a different flavor note.
