I didn’t realize it at first but evidently the wife is grumpy so I decided to go get a haircut, wash my car, and goof off for a while away from home. I’m pretty sure I haven’t done anything wrong. Probably just because her back hurts still.

A sore back is enough to make anyone grumpy.

In other news, there's a gnat in my house. Unusual for February.

I get it but she’s tried nothing for a week to improve it.

Write her a love note. buy her more flowers. Cook dinner tonight. Vacuum the house. Clean the toilets. Wash the windows. Dust stuff. Sweep the kitchen floor. Take the trash out.

Or, just take the dog to a park for an hour or two.

Seriously though, bad backs, just ugh, my wife had a bad back. L5-S1, two failed spinal fusions.

Getting ready to replace my ancient W10 computers with new W11 gear. Any suggestions on the best way to transfer everything over. Data seems quite easy but not sure about apps.

    Is SSD worth it?

Does anyone think there would be benefit to building my own rather than picking them up from Dell? I used to build computers but not since W98 days. Wife watches a lot of videos on-line, I had to upgrade her video card and power supply. I play games so I need better memory. Dell is cheap and easy but there's a limited amount of customisation available.

So far I'm seeing 17 million websites full of advice and my brain is overloaded. I don't want to spend months getting up to speed on everything.

    Suggestions or links appreciated.

    I don't use Windows PC's.

Is a SSD worth it? In my opinion, yes. No moving parts like a traditional hard drive. SSD's have faster transfer rates.

This is a good article about SSD's versus HDD's.

I'm subject to that information overload too. It took me almost a year to choose a new computer when my previous one was doing it's swan song, because I could only take in the options, prices, reviews, opinions, advice, for so long before I had to abandon. The only thing I knew was that I wanted SSD. No regrets over that. Love it.

Thanks for the reply. I've used black tea in another mix I made once, had some bizarre idea of a jasmine/honeysuckle floral black tea. The tea flavor had an almost tobacco-y hint to it, earthy and not in a bad way so I would imagine a green tea flavor would be a lot lighter version. Roughly. You said a drop of cherry to 30ml and I think that's probably the best idea. I can always bump that to 2 drops per 30 if need be. I'm gonna have to make an order with Bull City soon if I decide to go for this. I'll certainly check back in here to let y'all know how it turned out
Back when I was getting started vaping, trying a million flavors, I found that some of the tea flavors were far closer to cigarette than any of the so called tobacco flavors, and worked great for blending in other flavors for the subtle hints. I'm just talking about mixing ready-to-vape liquids, not going through the effort of mixing pg, vg, nic base and flavor extracts. Vape sellers would often send free sample bottles of flavors when you ordered any liquid.

You will need to reinstall your apps, since it will be a new machine.

Laptop or tower? MOST laptops are not able to be customized much (hardware!), but I have a Dell tower that has lots of room :)

Most (all?) newer laptops come with an SSD, and as always, bigger is better. They are faster and last longer, as well as no moving parts so less power consumed. (Not an issue if in a tower, of course.)

IF you can source all the parts at a reasonable price, building your own is an option. But it seems, these days, that you can just by a built one with the same specs for less. And keep your hair :)

If you can "do" Costco, maybe this?

12 gig of RAM, terabyte HD AND 256GB SSD (hopefully where they loaded the OS!)

I have been trying to do more. I did three loads of laundry, made breakfast, emptied the dishwasher, and a few other things this weekend on top of going to stores with her to look for stuff for the bathroom/ bedroom project. I went out today and picked up the yard and dug a new trench in the backyard since the water wasn’t draining in the back corner.

I used to build them for friends. Enjoyed it and made a bit of pocket money. Then one day Dell was selling them for less than I would pay for the parts. Now it's probably only worth it if you want something special, like a fancy gaming setup.
