Good morning. I made it to work but don’t much feel like being here. I’m sure by Saturday I will regret agreeing to work half a day. Weekends are too short already.

I just saw a recipe on ELR(swiss cheesecake) that has 16 flavors. I'm looking for just the opposite simple recipes.
No thanks! I recall years ago buying flavors for a recipe that was hyped as fantastic and had like 12 flavors of which I had none. I was utterly disappointed.

I don’t know how much it is now but early in my mixing days I calculated roughly the cost of mixing a 30ml bottle of diy and it was less than thirty cents.

My calculations were nearly the same as yours Hitt. Thirty cents for 30ml compared to $15-$20 for commercial juices.

Like most in the thread, I stocked-up on nic (a lifetime supply of 100mg). Also stocked up on gallons of VG and PG (long before current prices).

I think even with the current prices for nic, VG and PG; DIY in the long run, is still lower cost versus retail commercial juice.

As we know, DIY puts us in full control of our juices. Commercial juices folks are at, ummm, the unknown, all the way around.

During my last job I turned 67 so I could get SS and earn as much as I wanted without affecting the SS. Started the SS and did crazy amounts of overtime for a year. The money was nice but it burned me out. Then one of the other mechanics quit and they wanted me to do even more overtime, so I retired .

How long until you get to retire?

16 flavors. Just no freaking way!

My favorite everyday vape is a vanilla/cream mix using 4 flavors. And from a basic vanilla/cream I am able to vary the end result by using different vanillas and creams. LOL, I have many variations on that simple 4 flavor mix. Sometimes I'll add a wee bit of a custard, just for something different.

These days, like many, I have simplified - downsized all the way around. Gave several hundred flavors away. Only use what I like and use regularly, all the rest.......... Gone.

I have zero interest in any new flavors.

For me, it's all about "what can I do with 6 flavors or less".

I don't even bother with ELR anymore. The vast majority of recipes I've seen there are, ummm, questionable (LOL, being polite!).

There have always been top tier mixers posting on ELR, but, that by far, is not the norm.

But also, I do enjoy the most basic mix of all, flavorless. And yes, flavorless does have a "flavor" unique to itself. LOL

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sounds like it’s time for the no snow dance.

Over the years, I've received the Crystal Clear message that most (if not everyone) in this thread do not like snow or winter. At all.

Clearly, I am obviously the Weird One here who enjoys winter and snow.

Being in control of what's in the juice is good. I just got some disposables. Checked the small print and the juice showed the usual stuff plus undefined natural and artificial flavoring, all straight from China. Had to look online just to find out the nic percentage. And who knows what sort of cheapo VG, PG and nic they use.

I got my nic from WL and NN when it was still cheap. Still perfect after 10 years in the freezer.

Just realised I completely missed my 11 year quitting anniversary a couple of months back. First few years it was a big deal. After 5 years not so much. Got a touch of excitement at 10 years, but 11 years doesn't hit the button at all.

Has it been your experience that strawberry flavors fade fairly quickly?

No. I have not experienced strawberry fading 'quickly'.

Perhaps there are some strawberry flavors, from certain flavor houses, whose strawberry's fade.

I came from a cold place up by the Scottish border. Indiana heat was hard. You can only take so many clothes off but it's easy to put on more. It's still a relief to me when the temp goes down and the snow arrives. Snow is fun.

Guess you're not quite the only Weird One here.

Nude Nicotine Armor sealed nic 120ml bottles in PG is, I think, all we've ever bought. NN is the only brand in my freezer.

Not long ago I started a bottle of Armor v2 dated 2016-05-17 and it was clear as when I purchased it.

I've noticed zero degradation. Which is 100% in-line with all that Kurt, a chemist of well over 30+ years, posted on ECF years ago. DVap and Rossum posted similar results in their threads.

LOL, I never wrote my quit date down, it was sometime in early 2012. And about 1-2 months later started DIY because I never liked commercial juices (too much flavor/too sweet).

These days, for me, it's totally like @dennism wrote, K.I.S.S. - and honestly, for me, less is more with flavors. One can make a very robustly flavored DIY juice with just a few drops of flavoring (very flavor house dependent!) to less than 10% total.

I've been retired for 13 years, August 2012.

It can vary a little depending on what and how much flavoring you use. A liter of 100mg nic lasts me 4-5 years. PG and Vg last a long time and most flavors are pretty inexpensive.
The problem is, they're sold in large amounts, like a gallon the smallest. And I'm not a fan of storing it for a long time. I want to buy it in a container that will be used within 6 months at most. I prefer a maximum of 500 ml.
