Hey guys.

So ive done the very basic mod.

took a USB cable, removed all but the red and black wire, then soldered the red to the middle of the atomizers rear and the black to the rim.

(well i did put in a depress button also but thats the point of it)

If i fill up the cart, and i press my button i get the sweeeeeetest vape ever. Rich flavored, insane.

If i do this two three times, then suddenly it tastes REALLY bad. And then out of nowhere it goes back to tasting good.

Any clues on what this is cause im about to rip my head off.

Basically its a janty stick that was dead on arrival - atleast the circuit board was.

So its a janty stick atomizer, and well janty stick battery and all that.

IF it is the atomizer, what can i do about it? and how can it suddenly taste so god awful for a few puffs, and then go back to sweetness?

Should be said when it tastest awful, it doesnt produce nearly as much vapor either!

Thin burnt tasting vapor is usually accompanied by extra warm atomizer. If that is the case it is drying out. It refills the wick while you are scratching your head trying to figure out what happend. When you finally give up and try again just for the heck of it the wick is refilled and you get a full vape.

My 801 does this all the time cause I just can't quit after 6 or 8 good puffs. :)

Thick liquid is slow to wick. Too thin a liquid can easily flood the atomizer. You will get little if any vapor and it will be much cooler to the touch. You'll have to dry it out some.

So what youre saying basically is that its my liquid thats too thin?

Im using the janty liquid, different ones though - shouldnt they be good enough for ..their own product? I mean if im having this problem, mod or not, then other janty stick users MUST have the same problem?

I was thinking it could be my soldering somehow, cause it does seem to sometimes not respond at all, and other times respond perfectly.

Ive soldered the red onto the middle piece, and the black onto the rim - is there any particular "trap" i could have run into by doing that - and if so, would that be of any relevance to this problem / could it be?

I'm not familiar with Janty product or liquid but I doubt it is too thin. Since it performs this way on battery or manual USB I doubt it's the solder joint. Most of the problems I have encountered are due to operater error.

Remember, low vapor and hot equals dry, low vapor and cool equals flooded. Either way you have to work your way back to balance and a constant power source with a manual switch is the best way to get there.

So.

moderate drags, with pauses?

I tried it just now, and been able to vape for.. 4 mins without any bad taste.

Just seems VERY odd to me, as ive never experienced this phenomenon on my dura-c - and i havent heard of people having the problem on the janty stick - which ive heard people vape ALOT on.

So.. hmm. But so far, its working! - thanks.
