Random story thread contest ends 8/22/13

Still I could not see any creature. Sarah and I stood there waiting...

...as a sense of security washed over her, Sarah let go of me and suggested we check the footage, pictures and data from the equipment. I grabbed up the data cards, replaced them with new ones. Sarah and left the equipment, so as not to miss anything, and headed back up the mountain to the cabin to check out what the motion sensors had detected.

Once back at the cabin a fire was started in the fireplace and a hearty meal was cooked and served.

I set up the computer on the coffee table while Sarah served up the food

Being here with Sarah was really spoiling me I thought as I was downloading the pictures and video on my computer. I would never cook or serve meals like this at home.

As she set the plate before me, "This outta warm you up," she said in a delicate voice which sounded strangely familiar. We sat down, eyes glued to the glow of the computer monitor, and starred at static. "Nothing but static, sh**," I said. "Well sometimes recording equipment can pick up a greater range of sounds than what is audible to the human ear," I said as I flipped on the audio. ssssssshhhhhhhhh

Maybe after this mystery is solved I will make time to take a cooking class

ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the radio made just the one sound, nothing but static again. "Well, maybe the pictures turned something up," Sarah stated, once again in that soft and soothing tone. I began to flip through the photos when we saw it.......our mouths agape we just starred at the image before us. "Those are the glowing eyes I was telling you about!" Sarah exclaimed.

Now I knew for sure I had to be hallucinating. It had piercing, glowing red eyes and was covered with iridescent fur...what could this thing be?

"I've never seen a Anas Platyrhynchos like this before," I told Sarah, "it's definitely a new species and might explain the drastic alterations in the migratory patterns of the known species."

 

[Beachlover]

After researching online for an hour and not finding anything similar we decided to go to the library first thing in the morning to see if we could find anything on Anas Platyrhnynchos mutations. Surely this strange creature had to have been caused by a genetic mutation and not the ordinary migratory revolution theories as we thought.

 

[Amraann]

I thought that we should also check with the local water board and see what type of contamination may be in the local water.

We had a busy day ahead of us.

Still stuffed from our late dinner and knowing we could do nothing until morning when the library and water board opens we decided to sit back and watch Animal Planet while vaping our favorite juices

As I sat there with Sarah I finally worked up the gumption to ask her a nagging question, "does one of your sisters by chance work as the hostess of a B&B in Branson?" She looked at me in an odd way and said,"you mean Sally, yeah she works at the Prancing Pony, do you know her?"

 

[Amraann]

yes! I know her! And I told her of our long story...

 

[Beachlover]

How did you meet Sally she asked me.

"I stumbled into the Prancing Pony exhausted and .....

heat stroke which was making me have all kinds of illusions and Sally

It truly is a small world, I thought.
