Ummm... maybe you don't fully understand American humor. Did you miss my LMAO emoticon? I replied to a very humorous post. Sorry ya missed my intent! I'll get over it...

Oh, I meant that it was ME who missed the original humorous post, because I honestly don't know what the device is.

I'm also sure I don't fully understand American humor, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't succeed in making jokes that others would understand. Some time ago I had to realize it's safer for everybody if I stop trying...

Lucky me,I manage a dept. in a 3k s/feet wearhouse in which I am alone 99.9% of the time

Yet,the 1% that run through it 10 minutes during the whole time I am here still find a way to rat me out for diff. things that I got to go to the boss office to justify...all the time.

Hell, people rat me out even if the got no visual contact with me or not even working on the same floor.

I even got 2 harrassment complaints lodged against me recently (which both were dismissed)...did I point out that I work ALONE?

People are like that...well,some at least...its jealousy,envy...name the 7 capital sins, its there...but its not a boss that will judge them when the time comes :)

I vape,I have 2 svoemestoes dangling from my belt and everybody seen them...I am pretty sure that at least 40% of my co-workers,if they had to work in my wearhouse, would go to my boss and lodge a complaint.

Then they are surprised that I dont want to take any parts in their social activities. (worked with them for 25 yrs and 25% of my time was passed in the boss office for co-workers complaints that never ever went anywhere).

Doh.

Morale: there will always be at least 1 person to rain on your parade, for whatever reason.

There's really no need to do it at work. I work where I can vape, around guys named Buster and Burke who could care less if it was Cohibas I was smoking. But I still don't fire up where other people are. For one, it looks kind of silly and fiendish, so I could see where it may be distracting. I would feel the same way if someone was sucking on a pacifier as well. It's time we should be just happy that we get to vape and not still be hooked on cigs and we get away with stealth vapes. We'd be a lot further between smoke breaks otherwise.

My Nephew is vaping some RY4 and it's irking the heck out of me because the scent, one that I happen to hate is lingering around my house.

My hubby vapes one or two flavors that I hate the smell of so I can see where it might bother people. I usually avoid doing something that I know is going to upset people so I stealth vape. Of course I've worked with people who smelled REALLY terrible and nothing was done about them. Still, I'm certain I'd be told no vaping was allowed.

As the OP, I just wanted to thank all of those who commented here.

As for you guys who said I should be respectful etc. I have 5 other people in this area. They all know about it and don't care much. 2 of them have said hey thats great you dont smoke anymore.

This guy is like an internal mail boy. He comes to my area for about 20 seconds each day to deliver the mail. Otherwise we have no contact. I did often exchange friendly conversation with him from time to time. I don't really get it.

I have to wonder what other things the mail boy is noticing and running to the boss about. My reaction would have been to greet him each day with a friendly, loud "Hi Snitch! How are you today?" That's exactly how people get nicknames and it sounds like it fits him perfectly.

As far as stealth vaping goes, it does work pretty well to inhale fully and hold it for a bit. Or, you could just exhale into a tissue, or as I did recently, into my neck scarf. No vapor to be seen.

I like the idea of being open about it or at least leave the unit out in the open. It's a good conversation starter and an opportunity to educate people without starting the discussion with negativity. I actually enjoy vaping in public so people will get used to seeing people vaping and not be so shocked about it. The looks on some faces when I finish a hit and then put my pv into my pocket or purse can be pretty interesting.
