Well, I'm posting on ECF because the idea started from E-Cigs, and how they were predicted, in a fashion, in the 50s to 70s..
My other post...

Anyway, I read a story 15 years ago minimum, and I believe it was in a dime, or quarter, paperback. Back then, I was hard pressed to find a person my age who read the old sci-fi, and now, I doubt anyone at all under 30-40 bothers with it.
With I-Pads, and cell phones, and MP3's, who wants to read about massive ship computers that run off of TAPE memory. Who in the younger ages even understands what a computer tape is?!?
At 30yrs old in a week, I was actually past the point of tape drives, and the 3 1/4 inch floppy was advanced (used a C64 with 5 1/2 floppys when I started on computers at 4yrs old (and 1 meg of RAM would make a computer nerd have a waking wet dream in his pants at the very idea)
The sci-fi of before was what led to so much of what we have today, but you stick a book in a teens face (or even some 20-30 yr olds), and they laugh and say the book is silly and pointless, because it's so common these days that nobody wants to read about 'old news'...
