Raptor 60A voltage adjustment

Greetings all,

I have a 60A Raptor chip and am wondering how I would go about widening the voltage adjustment range.
The wiring diagram I have is for what seems to be a "standard" Raptor range of 3 - 5 V.
Since the chip/board is capable of an output range of roughly 0.5 up to 5V...I'd like to be able to get a bit more flexibility out of it and get it down to 1 - 2V minimum ouptput.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

2kΩ 1.2 volts

So your high is your set resistor and your low is your pot.

Set resistor for ~170-220Ω
2k or 3kΩ pot.
Your total trim resistance will be adding your set resistor to your pot..
2170kΩ or 3220kΩ
1-1.2v-6.5v


Or just use a 2kΩ pot or 3kΩ pot to trim no set resistor its not recommended by engineers but I do mine with pots only.
If fail they are easily replaced lol. Yeah they are gonna eventually fail, pots have turn lifespans..

Thank you Visus, very useful information and suggestion...much appreciated.
Rhelton..., my thought process with taking the voltage so low is that to get maximum wattage output the coils will have to be 83 milliohms (0.083 ohms), and with such a low ohm setup 2 volts with a 83 milliohm coil would get me a range of roughly 48 - 300 Watts

The regulators actually run better at high wattages up top near v input @5v. If you have 7.4v coming in it will run best at 300 watts at 5-6v at lower voltages they lose efficiency and will sag the heck out of your battery.. There are regulators that max out only 3.6v with 5v max input @ 300/500 watts that would run great with a milliohm coil.

Page 6 1.2v less than 80% efficiency since no cooling and heatsinking
with cooling and heatsinking its 80%

96% efficiency @5v

You would be swappin batts all day long using it that way if its on a power supply never mind..

It would be battery powered, not sure yet if I want to try out a LiPo pack or stick with a 3S 18/26650 setup.
I knew that the board would be less efficient from my previous quick "scans" over the technical information on GE website, but didn't recall it being that much of a drop off...thanks for pointing it out, makes me give it a little more thought about the trade-off between lower wattage and run time.
