I had been analog free for about 24 hours on Saturday the 18th and was doing good on Sunday until I got the news that my cousin passed away. vaping wasn't going to cut it for me and really needed an analog. My husband came home with a pack and I smoked 8 analogs that day while he smoked pretty much the rest of the pack, all but one. I had one more analog yesterday morning and haven't had another since!

Last night, my husband broke down due to a nic fit he couldn't control and bought himself a pack. I didn't have any of that pack last night and really didn't even want one. They're currently sitting right on his desk free for me to use. I haven't even bothered with them. I even stood there staring at the pack and thought, "Nope, don't really want or need one", then walked away!

When I was just on analogs, I wouldn't have walked away empty handed, I would have grabbed up that pack and smoked it like a chimney that was about to erupt into flames!

I'm so surprised that I'm doing better than hubby is at resisting the analogs. Normally he has a much stronger will power than I do. I'm a very weak person when it comes to my vises. I'm proud of myself for not having another analog even though they are so readily available in the next room and it's been about 30 hours since I've had one!

I'm counting down the days until I can place my order for an eGo, then I'll be waiting for it to arrive.... the next week or so is going to drag on for an eternity!!! 8-o

You might want to consider buying a higher mg/ml liquid for your husband and for times you crave a cigarette. That was how I got through the first few months with my e-cig.

I was a 1 - 1.5 pack/day smoker and needed 24mg/ml liquid in the mornings then 18mg/ml the rest of the day. When I felt a heavy nicotine craving, I switched to 24mg/ml for awhile to help stop me from smoking.
There are some on this board who had to use even higher concentrations.

Congratulations and even if you do smoke occasionally at least it is not as much as before!:thumbs:

My husband uses a 36mg juice, so I don't think he really needs a higher mg. LOL I cut mine down but it wasn't the nic I was craving Sunday, it was the satisfaction an analog gives that I wanted/needed. I know my husband is craving the act of smoking, not the nic and he's a bit frustrated that the PV isn't consistent like an analog is. And he really doesn't have the time to fiddle around with it to figure out what works for him. When I get my eGo kit and supplies, I'll let him use one of the eGos and see if that works better for him than the crappy minis we have.

You have to remember that its not just the nicotine you are craving. When you smoke you are getting MAOI's as well. They basically act like an antidepressant if I remember correctly. There are also 4000 plus other chemicals you are getting. When I started, I would just use my e-cig in place of a real smoke and still follow my rituals (going outside, when getting in the car, etc.). For me, the rituals I had for smoking were just as hard to change. I also used a higher mg juice when I really wanted a cigarette.

Remember, it's not how many you smoke, but how many you don't!

Good Luck! And keep it up!

CONGRATULATIONS on conquering your cigarettes!! That's not easy to do. I always felt like it was re-learning how to trust.

Don't worry too much about the Hubby, everyone moves at their own pace. Some folks quit smoking as soon as they take up vaping and some others still end up smoking just a few cigs a week forever. It's not a defeat, as long as vaping is helping him to cut way back it's still a win. And he still may come around to only vaping yet, just give it time.

And, so sorry to hear about your cousin, my condolences.

It's awesome that you are able to stick the vaping while going through something that upsetting. Especially since you were only 24 hrs into not having a cig. Of course, you already know not to worry about the few you had for obvious reasons on Sunday. It's just wonderful that you are still sticking with it.

You're gonna love the eGo!! I just got mine yesterday, and I can't stand to put it down. Been showing it off to everybody all day :)
