Hey guys, I'm kind of a Nicoticket noob (awaiting my third purple bag), but I've been vaping for several years. Was doing DIY juice for a year or so, but my first taste of CB ended all that :vapor:.

Anyhow, I've been reading a lot of threads here and it's really cool how you guys have such a friendly "mini-community" here. I'm in vaping heaven now, due to all these amazing juices, so I feel like I owe you guys something, lol (or at least Clark :p).

In case anyone hasn't seen the rayon thread in the RBA sub-forum, I wanted to let you guys know that I've had an AMAZING experience with it, and that it works particularly well with NT's juices. Rayon transfers sweetness like no other wick out there, and obviously many of us here have a pretty big sweet tooth. What goes hand-in-hand with sweet juice? Coil gunking! With rayon, you can go MUCH longer between re-wicks, I'm talking 3 to 4 TIMES as many tanks!!!

Besides these two advantages that NT may particularly be interested in, there are others. Fluid wicks MUCH faster than cotton (really shines in a kayfun). Better, cleaner flavor, right from the start (no break in like cotton). Easier to work with (wicks thin out easily by pulling on opposite sides). Cheaper, especially when compared to "designer" cotton like Koh Gen Doh (lifetime supply will run you $12). Dry hits come on much slower than cotton; there's way more of a warning... and if you actually do mange to get a dry hit, it's not nearly as nasty as cotton.

If you have any safety concerns, rest assured there's been plenty of research by some of the best and brightest on ECF, and everything checks out. The only drawback I can think of is that you may be spending even more $$$ at NT, cuz this stuff will make you never wanna put down your PV, as well as going back and trying all your old flavors again :vapor:

If you'd like to try it out, google Sally Beauty Supply (chances are there's one within a few miles of you) and pick up a box of Graham Cellucotton beauty coil 100% Rayon. I can almost guarantee you won't be sorry you did.

Besides, has a guy named Clark (that's me) ever led you wrong? :D :2cool:

Yep, I've seen the thread and am awaiting my box to be delivered, ordered from Texas beauty supply..I plan on using it to wick mpt 2's, kfl+'s, and a fogger v 4.3....Texas beauty supply had best price for 40 ft box, threw in a bar of soap to get my order over $7, and shipping ...I am hoping it's a good experience since a lot have been talking positive about it. I went this route after looking at readywick. I still want to try that out too, but think ccr will be easier for me to work with and much cheaper too!

Edited, how rude of me, welcome to the NT family!!

I have been using this for awhile after getting a "sample" PIF'd to me from a wonderful friend from the Reo forum. I think I have enough for a couple of years at least. This is pretty amazing stuff, alright. It seems to wick and hold more juice than the KGD that I also use on another Reo. I tried RxW, both 2 and 3mm, but it's really finicky to get right and I couldn't get the taste I wanted, to it's in my supply box. Anyway, welcome to the NT forum!

Sally' s- plenty in PA, just none close enough to me...Lol, I'm feeling lazy, but I was debating hitting walmart for the SV melatonin for the rayon packing balls on top since it's 2 minutes away, and I use it for insomnia too...this heat is draining me, point/click was easier(i was a bum yesterday honestly besides cleaning). I even skipped out on baseball game last night, stayed home and in a/c for the most part with our preschooler

baseballmom,

I'm sorry to tell you this, but I hope it will prevent others from making the same mistake.
The "cellucotton" product is either rayon or cotton. AFAIK, the rayon version is only sold in 500foot, 3LB, and one larger size (maybe 1500 feet? not sure). The "CelluCotton" in the 40-ft length is actually cotton, everywhere I've seen it, not rayon.

If you look at the box, right under "100%" in big letters, it will either say "Cotton" or "Rayon Fibers".

Frankly I think it's a bit deceptive for the manufacturer (Graham Professional) to sell 2 different products with almost identical packaging and the same product name.

When in doubt, the product with 44060 on it is the 500-ft rayon fiber.

EDIT!!!

Texas Beauty actually sells both kinds in the 40-foot length! The picture they show is the rayon version, but the default is the cotton version. If you use the pulldown you can select the rayon instead. (SKU 44160)

Gotta go over to the Rayon thread and see if they noticed that!!!

Sorry if this was a false alarm, still hope it was helpful, since anyone who orders the default will get cotton instead!

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! I got my purp in the mailbox today and my GCD smells DELISH! I threw a bit in with my H1N1 and they are quite tasty together. They also sent me a free bottle of Coolcumber Mint; should be interesting. (what the heck are they thinking, sending out free ....?!?! What a cool company!)

I figured I'd repost my experience with rayon in the kayfun here, for anyone that may be interested :)

*Disclaimer: all my coils are 29ga (cuz that's all I have) and 1.65mm-1/16th ID (cuz I've been brainwashed by the microcoil thread and i have an 18ga needle)

When I first started with the kayfun I was running 8 wraps, which is the minimum for a true microcoil. That was great for a while (coming from protanks for over a year straight), but soon I wanted more. So I went seven wraps at around 1.1 ohm. Vape was better, but I'd get the occasional dryhit (no matter how much cotton I used), likely because the small amount of cotton just couldn't keep up.

Next I went to dual coils, nine wraps each at .9ohms. Flavor was great, and the extra cotton i could use from x2 coils meant no dry hits. Problem was, it was extremely warm. I like a bit of warmth (which I had never had until now), but this was too much.

Then I discover the rayon thread, found the cellucotton at Sally's (I was actually the one who found the CCr, until then we were just getting it from pill bottles), and after a couple good reports I got some as well. Because of the wicking quality, I knew I could go back to a single coil and be just fine. Decide to try a twisted coil, which would get me to a low ohm while spreading the heat out over a much larger surface area. Used the drill (dremel actually) method and it came out in a beautiful twist, like it was from the factory. I ended up at 8 wraps (I think, I'll hafta check when I break it down again) at .7ohms. This was lower than i wanted to be, because of the warmth from my dual coil .9 build, but i figured I'd try it anyways.

Stuffed it full on rayon (about 40% more than I'd use with cotton) and proceeded to vape.

Amazing flavor, big clouds, perfect warmth (not as hot as my .9 DC build, weird). Two tanks in and never a dry hit. It's actually STILL krackling every time I hit it (always a sign for me of a new, clean coil/wick), where with cotton the krackle would stop halfway through the tank, if that (I like very sweet juice that caramelizes very quickly).

I soon realized that since the wicking was so much better, allowing me to use more power and vaporize juice faster, that the airflow was now the limiting factor. I know many people drill out the outside hole, but this didn't make sense to me, seeing as how it still had to come trough that tiny tube in the center post (underneath the coil). I bought some cobalt bits (VERY important) and drilled the center post to 1/16th. HUGE improvement.

Later I ended up drilling the center post to 5/64th, but i wouldn't recommend this unless you have a drill press and an extra center post handy. Now the output from my kayfun is amazing, I can blow bigger clouds than many of the guys with drippers at my local B&M :2cool::vapor: With the added convenience of a tank! If anyone is interested in drilling their kayfun I can go into more detail.

Rayon really is the solution for microcoils in a Kayfun, and helps this atty specifically a great deal.

Been using Cellucotton for about a week and I'm still having a problem dialing it in. Cant seem to find that happy medium. I assume that with time I'll hone in on that perfect density but right now its hit and miss (more miss than hit)

Where it has really shined for me is in Kanger heads. I've never vaped a Kanger tank all the way dry until trying rayon. Usually its gurgle city any where south of the halfway point. Not now. Also, I'm vaping one of them @ 17 watts with no dry/burnt hits.

My experience with it in Kayfuns, drippers and in my Reo hasn't been as spectacular. Flavor isn't quite there and the wicking doesnt seem to be keeping up the way it should. Just need more practice methinks. :)

Yeah I ordered the rayon one.....learned from mistake on Amazon in past with similar items..was rec tx beauty supply on another forum...yup 44130:) thanks for your concern though, now if they send me cotton instead I'll be annoyed, but email and order say rayon fibers

44043 is 3#'s...didn't think I needed that much as a trial, and found the 44060 too, thanks

Yeah so had planned to do some rebuilding tonight,, saw this thread, and trusty google said there was a Sally's Beauty right around the corner...

be warned... the box is HUGE... smallest size they had was 500ft.. and the box being a cubic foot in size. I now believe that I will have enough wicking material for 3-4 vaping lifetimes.. wow... all for $11.99

It was funny, like everyone else, I went to Sally's and couldn't find a small package. Ended buying 500feet. Enough to last into the next century. Then I went to my local vape shop and re-wicked my vaping donut. The Vapeshop was so impressed with the stuff that they went across the street and bought the big box.
I think that the first few minutes I did experience a chemically taste but that went away quickly. I notice that if not totally saturated then I taste that taste again. So I'm not 100% convinced about Rayon.

It's harder to work with then cotton to get the right consistency. Also everyone says the same thing, you need to use more of it then cotton and make denser, that it shrinks after it's been heated up.

I feel so ridiculous with a 500 foot box of Rayon Fiber in my car. I'm embarrassed to bring in the house. My wife will look at me like I'm insane.

Only vapers would buy bottles of supplements just to get at the stuffing material inside of it.

I do use the melatonin for insomnia, shuts down my adhd brain, so getting use out of rayon, the supplement, and I'd save the bottle for sewing stuff too(buttons or something)win-win-win ...pa Dutch in me
