i get that trying to save some time and/or money by trying to save the wick by cleaning only the coil but for a couple of minutes it takes me to dryburn/rewick imho its not worth the time as once i have the tank open i might just as well change out the wick, you might of bought some time but not much.

unless the price of rayon is going through the roof these days because of all the new rayonattis out there, i only have +95% left of my $5 40ft box i bought last year .

imho, ymmv - yadda yadda
I hear you Vincom, but in my case, with the billows tank, it takes some love and if I'm refilling and can see my coils are junked then it's simple to strum them and wipe.... More work to rewick. Than to strum and wipe....

I'm the same as all you, I want a killer Vape everytime. Well, like my last post said. One minute cleaning my coil got me a few days or a week of new wick. The wick is fine! It's the gunk on the coil that gets tasting nasty! I know my Sally's is cheap. But why fix what isn't broke?

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been trying to get the measurements of the o rings to no avail. I don't like the green. Thanks you so much!
I thought the green was a nice look at first, but I've already grown tired of it. I think red would look good, but my experience with red o rings, is that they're garbage.

I so wanted red ones! But I don't know where to buy them do you? It's ok if they're not the best quality. They're cheap & easily replaced once you know where to buy them.

You are most welcome and yes those are the correct size!
It is the same o-ring that a Kayfun Lite uses on the tank. If you have a KFL spares kit around, there should be a couple you can use until your supply comes.

I sincerely appreciate it! You guys are the best!
No KFL though, so I'll have to wait.

I enjoy making coils, I like to tinker. I'll change the coil just because I feel like changing the coil. Maybe to try something different, maybe I'm just bored. ;)
Same...I love building, almost like a meditation for me. Therapeutic when I'm bored or stressed :) but I generally only build on average once a month per atty.

It's been almost 2 months since I first started taking rayon seriously and I thought I would give you an update.

I only vape mints/menthols high PG eliquids and vaping has been a breeze with all except one of them. This particular eliquid has been the bane of my existence. A coil gunker to the max. Why is your favourite flavour the most lethal on your coils :p Oh well....it was this particular eliquid that drove me to find a wicking method I liked and that would work properly for longer than a couple of days in my small factory blister pack coil heads. (BVC, Nautilus & Cubis)

With a lot of hand holding from @gt_1955 and @TrollDragon I started rewicking them with rayon. I was instantly gratified to find this eliquid wicks perfectly with rayon wicks and the coil setup lasts ages. I never thought I would ever say this but I have not loaded or used a factory coil in over a month. (So much for me stockpiling them in prep for the coming vapeagheddon)

The taste of my eliquids are cleaner and crisper and most of all I trust the coil to perform. That's a big thing for me..... If I don't trust it.... I won't use it. So in a nutshell...thank you @JeremyR for putting this thread together with easy to follow information and the support of every one while I figured out how to tootle puff with rayon.

The power of rayon:

Today, I entered a store to buy a few items. While I was at the shop, my dna 200 somehow went into continuous fire while in my pocket (probably the fire button got depressed) and although the temperature control didn't let the coil go over 230C (which was my set temperature at the time), it fired for so long the heat transfered from the coil to the deck and then to the chimney, eLiquid and glass. When I finally noticed something hot in my pocket, the entire atty was at 200C and the eLiquid was boiling inside the tank. I barely managed to unscrew the atty and had to let it cool off for almost half an hour before I could even touch it.

The coolest of all (pun intended) is that the rayon wick didn't burn and I was able to continue to vape before arriving home!

The eLiquid, usually colorless was yellowish from the heat.

Rayon all the way.

Regards
Tony
