Depending on the source, I've got 20lbs of coil here if you want it.. its not very good and needs to be washed IMO, so it sits.. Not all rayons are created a like. Even pharmaceutical, depends who actually does the manufacturing.
I think going in on a box of tidi balls makes more sense. Probably the cleanest rayon you can buy retail in the US. 2000 large balls is a ton of these, plenty for 10 people probably.

Last week i had the dirtiest wick I've ever seen since using rayon.. it was from the nic!
I ran out of the nic select from ecx ive been using.. used some older XTR from the nic comparision tests last year.. that stuff turned my wicks almost black. Once i made a batch with some other nic the wicks cleared themselves.
So nic can play a larger role than i thought in darkening wicks.

Rebuilt the bachelor and I'm happily vaping it now.
This time i put a 2.5mm 28g coil in it and the air flow is much better! No problems with 90%vg right now up to 45w. 2.5mm is my sweetspot with this and i guess all my stuff.
.77, 28g kanthal.. would have liked another wrap or two but that was my last bit of kanthal.
I did thin the one side of the tail becuse it was thicker than the other.. (the mod was turned in last pic)
Replaced the top oring and that issue is resolved. The top oring is easily damaged.

Amusingly enough, that was the most expensive nic in the comparison. $58.95 for 125 ml of 100mg.
tomorrow, tomorrow, i will have some rayon tomorrow.......according to usps tracking. i should be happily vaping by noon on a new 316l/rayon build thanks to heartsdelight's gift to me. my last ebay order is still in the pipes, supposedly, watch, i'll get it tomorrow too....

I was going to formulate an introduction in the new members' area but I'd rather spill my guts here as it's going to be one of my few new homes on ECF.
I've been vaping for 2 months today, I quit the stinkies for health reasons more than anything. I must say im starting to feel better and certainly smell just a tiny bit better.
I'm currently taking the plunge over to the Dark Side and am getting into DIY juice and building my own stuff, just waiting on a metric pantload of vapemail from all over the globe and I'm set. I live hundreds of KMs(desolate Canada)from a B&M so it's all online for me
I'm pretty confident about both aspects, I figure if Average Joe can do it I'll have no problem, so even though I've never wicked jack with anything including cotton I've got 500' of rayon(44060) on it's way. Ironically my name is something I've imported from elsewhere and not referring to here. YET.

That's true. I started with organic cotton so it was a learning curve for me, still is with different set ups, but everyone here is very friendly & most helpful. You're off to a great start!Thanks Hearts!

I've been at this for over two years and still have mistakes and frustrations. Wire and wick are cheap. Make a mistake and you can start over. At worst, take a break for a while and try later. You'll get it and be happy.
Great threads JeremyR, many thanks. I'm waiting for my small lyocell cellulose delivery to slow boat to me. $50 USD shipping for the 44060 is just .. well, normal for US -> AU .. but too much. Still less than the recent $160 USD shipping estimate for 1 gallon vg + 1 litre nic. Speaking of too much, I've searched high and low for a bulk rayon supply in AU, or reasonable shipping, but no luck.
