so........i must say that rayon will be my "wick of choice" from now on. i'm getting a much cleaner taste and i can run it hotter without ever getting that burnt cotton taste. as far as longevity goes, that's something i'll have more to say on in a week or so. i believe i wicked my bachelor a little too tight, but i got my theorem just right. i have 8 wraps of 24g 316l @ 3mm in both tanks. i'm running the theorem in power mode at 35 watts and flavor and vapor production are out of sight.
still no rayon from ebay - grrrrr

Hello everyone, been a bit since logging in and adding to the thread. Recently started a new job and been working crazy hours. Just wanted to share my vaping Nirvana using rayon with a quick write up that may be helpful to others.

For this post we will feature a new recent favorite of mine, the Serpent Mini. Can be had as of today on eBay for $25-29 to your door. Found a seller in the state next door and had it in 2 days. Only drawback to it is like a little hotrod with a 2 gallon fuel tank. Kicks serious bootay in the flavor dept.

Running it with a 3mm 22ga SS coil .20 ohm:

I had started my Rayon journey with Kotex U. Decided to give the Sally's a try and must say it is much better to work with. For this 3mm coil, I take the piece of the rayon and remove 1/3 of it:

Then I take the bigger piece and roll it into what turns out to be...eh, use your imagination:

Trim the edges flush with the edge of tank and taper them down:

Then I juice it and put the wick all the way into the juice channel. Since it has no juice flow control, it will flood when filling if wicked inadequately. With a tank this small, I have to fill it every couple hours, which is a bummer at work when you can't fix it.

No leaking wicked like this:

I generally fire it a bit and blow on the coil while wetting once or twice with liquid to break it in before putting it back together:

Reassembled atop a VF Stout. Vapes like a champ with some DIY 80VG/20PG, set at 460F with a 40 watt ramp up:

You are a champ vaping at 80 pg, that would be way too much throat hit for me.

So tried the rayon, It works well.
Some things I have noticed
-didn't improve flavor(didn't hurt it either)
-didn't notice more nic hit(glad didn't want it)
-still shows temp protection(no were even close to cotton though so [emoji106]) hits it once or twice per hit.
-had a odd flavor at first but went away after a tank maybe less.

Verdict: ill keep it lol.

Using it in a griffin 25 with a Clapton in it, no leaking or anything.

I was recently PIF'd a Serpent Mini (thanks markfm). The hotrod with a 2 gallon tank is a perfect description. Took me 2 attempts to get the wick right, but it's all good now. I really like this tank, even though I have to fill it often.

I would initiate a refund from eBay for non-delivery. What I sent you should last awhile. Or you can consider ordering directly from Sally's Beauty online.

Thanks for the pics! Helps a lot! I have a Serpent Mini & it's great to be able to see pics of the wicking for different Attys. It seems like the wicking technique differs from atty to atty.

Hi Mike, nice to see you around. I quit the job end of last month. Couldn't do it anymore. Gonna try retirement.
Right on man! I am out in the valley hay hauling. I wish you a great retirement man! You and the others did good work there.

as i had my bachelor wicked too tight (i really, really stuffed it) i rebuilt. since rayon wicks the best;), i made a big 4mm 8 wrap coil of 24g 316l reading .5 and wicked it right. i did get it right, @ 30 watt and 420F on my vtc mini it's doing just what it's supposed to, with no cotton taste (which i never knew was there before). i'm sold. the only way i'd use something else than rayon (unless it's the new best thing) is if i ever ran out.:2c:

Question guys, when thinning the tails do you like to cut at an angle to thin or use a needle type thingy to pull through the wick to thin? Thanks!

I just cut at an angle, then trim the bottom up if needed.
