Question guys, when thinning the tails do you like to cut at an angle to thin or use a needle type thingy to pull through the wick to thin? Thanks!
It just depends on the atty. With a Griffin style deck I use the angle cut and trim. With like aromamizer, I will do the needle.

Just remember, everyone will find their experiences differ from one to another, that's just my preferences and they may change when I get this boreas

I don't know about that Paul... I get a lot of spit back, sometimes painful spit back. I'm told I need to increase power, but then the vape is uncomfortably hot. With TC, I can increase the power, but limit the temp.

Then you are doing something wrong. For you, TC is a crutch for an out of control build. Try different diameters, gauges, coil height above air flow ( or where ever the air comes from).

hahahaha! you got it right, i use tc to control my build, so my build doesn't control me.

I don't doubt that I'm doing something wrong, but this a problem with 6 different tanks, and 2 drippers. I do try different builds, looking for that sweet spot. At times, I think I've found it, everything is working just right, but after a while, the spit back starts. So until I figure out what I'm not doing right, I have TC to help.

I enjoy the vape consistency of TC and the ability to use an all SS tank without even thinking about the juice level.

Also I like TC for the "Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow" :D :w00t: :D

My guess is too large coil diameter, allows too much rayon, allows too much liquid. Then you have to increase power to get it to vaporize. Once it starts, it explodes from too much power.
That might be it, I build 3mm coils out of habit. I'll test your theory. Thanks.

Vape however you guys wish. I dont think paul meant to offend you guys so dont get too defensive. Lol.

He meant its possible to get rayon temp control using the correct parameters for your vaping. The rise of temp control was due to cottons flaws.

Try a 2.5mm coil. The parameters of coil diameter, wraps, and gauge all play a direct role in perfecting your rayon vape. ..also heavy gauge isnt better, more popping, more wasted power, and latent coil heat cooking juice... I dont use more than 26 and prefer 28 at around 40-45w to a single 2.5mm coil.

I did temp control for a bit but I personally dont need it and I get a much better vape with straight power. Ive vaped for years so I got it like that. Lol

Ill try to lend some ideas...

Think of what gauge wire, coil size, and wraps are you using for each of these builds.. This is what will make all the difference next to rayon.

How many watts do you run and what type of draw.

But if your saying spit back starts after half a day to a day, then it sounds like you need more density... This problem after a few hours to a day is a direct indicator of a loose wick. At lower power levels it will run wet and could pop, at higher power levels it will lean to a dry coil hit.

I generally use 24g SS316L, 3mm diameter. I generally don't care to go past 30 watts.
I don't how I could get more wick in the coil, I'm packing it pretty tight.
