30w.. 24g is way overkill imho... Sure some people would like to use it at lower power and that's fine, but it's not necessary and will directly cause more gunking... I'd personally save 24g for 65w+. You probably dont want to hear this but 28g is plenty for 30w and will give a great vape.. actually when i vaped at 30w a parallel 32 was the absolute best, and 30g would be good too.

Like spaced coils dont be afraid to go back to higher gauge and see what your missing.

Since I've been using a mechanical mod a lot recently I'm finding I use twisted kanthal a lot. For a given AWG you can substitute twisted kanthal of the same size as the 316L in that gauge, get close to the same resistance.

For example, a 7 wrap 28AWG twisted kanthal, 3mm, yields 0.78 ohms. A 7 wrap single 28AWG 316L yields 0.77. A 6 wrap 27AWG twisted kanthal 2.5mm is 0.47, vs. a 6 wrap 27AWG single 316L being 0.46ohms.

I find the twisted kanthal a bit less fiddly, and since I'm not vaping TC I like that resistance stays constant, so I get constant power on a given puff.

Just remember, everyone will find their experiences differ from one to another, that's just my preferences and they may change when I get this boreas

If you get a chance and are so inclined would you take pics when you build? I'm got one too! Thanks!

I will, it's gonna take some time for me to tune it in, I have heard that it is awesome though

Vape however you guys wish. I dont think paul meant to offend you guys so dont get too defensive. Lol.

He meant its possible to get rayon temp control using the correct parameters for your vaping. The rise of temp control was due to cottons flaws.

Try a 2.5mm coil. The parameters of coil diameter, wraps, and gauge all play a direct role in perfecting your rayon vape. ..also heavy gauge isnt better, more popping, more wasted power, and latent coil heat cooking juice... I dont use more than 26 and prefer 28 at around 40-45w to a single 2.5mm coil.

I did temp control for a bit but I personally dont need it and I get a much better vape with straight power. Ive vaped for years so I got it like that. Lol

No worries here, I would not even bother responding to that statement!

OK, I do have a question, we all talk about watts, but what voltage do you usually vape at? It seems if I go over about 3.7-3.8 I start getting minor burnt flavor

Need a little more info brother...

Coil size, gauge, tank, juice ratio etc.

Because 3.7V on a 0.1 ohm build is 136W and 3.7V on a 1 ohm build is 13.6W... :)

It's spaced, and sorry, dual 8 wrap

8 wraps on each coil in a dual setup would be 0.4 ohms, I don't see how you are getting the 0.25.

If it is measuring 0.25 then at 55W the coils have a heat flux of 505 mW/mm² and that is a HOT vape.

Do you use Steam Engine?
