So I think I might have a minor allergy to Rayon.. My throat was feeling itchy like I had breathed in insulation.. Switched back to cotton and today my throat and mouth is back to feeling normal.. Anyone else have this happen to them?
Its like being in a cloud competition. Your not use to the increase in potentcy.
Its like your actually vaping for the first time. You have to adjust to the different vapor.

Rayon wick, possible side effects and causes. - FlavourArt UK
Most effects are related to the 30% increase in vapor components, namely Nicotine increase. Its like you vaped a tone..
This is most likely your problem -
*******
A loose wick will cause a dry vapor, similar to the vape with siilica. Cotton would burn in these conditions Rayon doesn't!. I did a test myself with a loose wick and its causes a sorish throat from the dry vapor from an overheating coil.... The difference is you wouldn't be vaping cotton at these temps because it would burn!!!!!

To the concern of allergy-
Alternatively-
To have an actual allergy to cellulose is not possible. If you got a piece with some salts left on it you could be sensitive to that but it's very rare. And it would be a very small amount that would be flushed from the Wick in a short time. Your piece would have more of an off taste too.
The salt that can be left from poor washing, or poor quality rayon is harmless Sodium Sulfate.
Sodium sulfate is in many foods, naturally occuring, and also added to many foods as a preservative.
For comparison -
Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate.
If you have a confirmed food allergy to sulfites then to be safe you may want to rinse the lower grades like Sally's to avoid.... To see if you do have an allergy review this article.
