So I think I might have a minor allergy to Rayon.. My throat was feeling itchy like I had breathed in insulation.. Switched back to cotton and today my throat and mouth is back to feeling normal.. Anyone else have this happen to them?
Underwicking can have that harshness effect. Rayon likes being tight in the coil, tighter than cotton. Also, rayon upped flavor, nic and throat hit for me, by around 25% - maybe you need to tone down your juice a little.

I think I am finally coming out of my coil building rut. I could not build a coil to save my life the day before yesterday! Lol I have given away so many of my smoktech bottom coil replacement coils (the same kind the kanger evod tanks take) to help others that I am in desperate need of getting more! I like to rebuild them with rayon in place of that factory wicking :)
A real rebuildable atty with a deck is sooo much easier and less tedious than those tiny Kanger heads, Ducky! :)

I experienced a slightly itchy throat too when I first switching to Rayon. As Jeremy and Cindy already stated, increased nic hit and under wicking (coil dries out because wick is to loose to make full contact) can do that. I also had to up my power 1-2w. Rayon's superior wicking means the coil is wetter and it takes a little more power to optimize the vape. After getting the wick and power right, i adjusted quickly and no more itchy throat.

Well what do you know @Kaezziel, they have a nano now. :w00t:
Project Sub-Ohm SilverPlay Nano RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer

3F has a clone Black version...

Damn you, Troll! I'm not too worried about the black version, I could always powder coat mine if I really wanted to, but that Nano!! That thing would be awesome on a mech, or I might have to pick up a higher powered TC mod. Might actually go for a true box mod this time... Sheesh, man... you know I have a weakness for this atty, right? :D

Just get one and join the club, looks much easier to wick than your STM or Lemo... :D

I'm thinking if I go for something like that, which I think has a little more of a restricted draw, I'll probably try the GEM clone for the smaller size still with a 5 ml. capacity.

I know right, the Silverplay is such an excellent RTA! They have the nano up on Focalecig as well and next time I get vape budget I just might consider one for myself. The Vapor DNA would be too much landed here in Canada.

On the want list right now is the K.loud +G, I have the first one and quite enjoy it for a quick little flavor changer. The Kronos for it's FeV type setup and a Genius2. Because they use 6 SS cables as feeder wicks, anything that has a really odd setup, triggers my "Wow, Bizarre, I must have one!"

The Cthulhu V2 looks great too with it's Velocity Style or Kayfun Style decks. The Mutation X MT RTA has a single sided option for building which is great. Then there are the Aromamizers that just speak for themselves.

Too many choices!
If you are looking for a box mod, I played with a Lavabox DNA200 at my local B&M last night for a few minutes, it's a seriously Fine Box!

Hate me yet?

Both will be new RTAs to me as well and it's always a fun time with clones. Some work amazing, some are better than the authentic and some are just junk. You need to read the reviews and discussions on FT to get the full picture. There are quite a few users here that have great results with the SXK SQuape Rs. The GEM is an unknown in clone form and the authentic is reported to be exceptional.

Here is the GEM Clone thread and the one I ordered should be here in two weeks and I hope it's a gooder!

In...on page 33 :(

Yeah I know, I've been busy

Welcome to the party, bud... better late than never, right?!?

I'm pretty happy with my RTA/RDAs at the moment. I may yet pick up a SP Nano, just because. But my next box mod will be one of Tbev's! If you haven't checked out his thread lately... OMG! He is doing some seriously awesome stuff. If I decide I need another regulated mod, I'll grab up one of his SX Mods. Nothing says high class like a temp controlled, indestructible squonker!

And check out his latest round of experimentation.... yes, that is an actual carbon fiber inlay that is machined into an aluminum box mod, not some cheesy vinyl decal.

I finally got my Crown (after a postal fiasco that initially delivered it to the wrong address), to replace the one my wife absconded with. I had to see what all the fuss was about. Now, I remember what cotton tastes like. About one and a half tanks in and that cotton flavor is starting to fade, but it's still there. Other than that, it works well. I'm gonna have to get the RBA deck for it though. I can't abide the cotton anymore.

Welcome to the thread megaman!

No need to do anything to it typically.

Taking a dip may help a little with Initial taste if you notice that, depending on your source. You have to be really careful not to disturb the fibers form though, try to keep it straight if you ever do soak or wash it.

None of us do...

YAAAYYYY!!! My 26g Ti-1 wire came in last night. I finally got a chance to twist up a couple of coils, and I gotta say that I am absolutely loving life right now!
The coils are 2.4mm I.D., 10 wraps each (duals), total resistance is showing up as 0.21 ohms on the Invader. TC is set at 300°F, and running at 50W. Super quick to heat up and no burnt taste at all. I see what you guys/gals have been raving about now! :D
Anyway, this first pic is the fresh coil.

This is with rayon wick after the first tank of juice.

Juice is a DIY Peaches-N-Cream, 70vg/30pg, pretty sweet and a fairly heavy gunker. So far everything is looking promising, but I'll gladly accept any critiques from the audience!

I'm only using 3mg nic juice, so I'm pretty sure it's not that.. I guess I'll give it another go and try to cram more wick in there and see if that helps.. I'll update yall with how it works out.
You'd be surprised with the nic when it's that low. I had to go from 4 to 3mg. ;) But it did sound like it was underwicked to me...
