In my haste, and before properly reading the thread, I accidentally bought the reinforced version, box number 44070.
I've now seen that this is not recommended.

Anyone know why?
I also purchased this one and have found that it contains a small strip of paper in the very center. It seemed to be just intertwined amongst the fibers and not glued in any way. Took out this strip and now left with only rayon. what did you hear about it being different?

I for one value vapdivr's contributions to this and other threads. I can easily understand him and he's always around helping others with issues they are having with their setups. Much like he was trying to help you.
Thanks alot, I appreciate it.

Cool ease, glad your jumping in to try it..

Comparing it to a cotton wick you've spent a long time perfecting, with your first attempt with rayon, may not be highly accurate; as a true comparison. If you get what I'm sayin'. It is a little different to work with. It sounds like you were a cotton pro. :)

You should be able to take it to 6v easily if its the right density, & feeding enough from the tank. (I haven't used nets so..)

Totally, just a first impression. I will give it a few months at least and a bunch of builds. As far as this build, it starts to get a little funny at 4.9v so not gonna push too far. Gonna have to learn it just like cotton. I dont like a super hot vape, been mostly 4.2-4.3v.

(This may have already been mentioned.)
Does the CC expand when the liquid is applied? I've seen the cotton expand a bit when it gets the juice but wonder if the rayon does too.
I only ask because I'm use to cotton and try to take into account the expansion when wicking. But if the rayon does NOT expand when wet then I think it would be prudent on my part to also take that into consideration when wicking.

I ordered rayon balls from Delasco as a consumer, it's just that they have a separate catalog for individuals and businesses. The shipping costs more than the balls, but altogether is only about $12 for 200 of them. Here's the link.

Delasco Rayon Balls

That's weird, still not letting me.

I revisited the site and it appears you have to create an account with them and log in before you can order. Unfortunately the rayon balls are currently out of stock. :(

I don't have any of Sally's CCr yet to compare them, but I would think they'd be very much the same if not identical.

From what I understand the rayon shrinks slightly when wet.

I think you're right about that. I just rewicked one of my drippers (0.7ohms) and took a coupe puffs popped the cap off to take a look and there was more space between coil and wick compared to before the puffs were puffed.

Folks,

You might give all this searching for medical grade CC a second thought or call the Manufacturer to see if what you think you are getting is really what you will get.

Thanks for the rant Holman. :) good points

I do not think sterile is needed at all. Only thing I'm talking about with other types is they seem to be better rinsed or washed in production than Sally's which would be an even more ultra pure vape.

For the record guys cc is just a brand name. It is a rayon "coil", tencel we've found is *top which is straight fibers. I see nothing better about tencel end product at this time.

Ok, so I've looked through about 30 pages on here and cannot find the image with the Sally's box that shows the correct SKU to buy. I have a Sallys right by work so will pick up a box tonight after I leave. Can someone hook a brother up with the right SKU# I should be looking for? I think it's 5 digits, starts with a "4"?

I found these sterile rayon balls, $21.84 plus $5.00 shipping. What do you think?

Medline MDS21470 Rayon Balls, Sterile Medium, 1" diameter Case of 4000 | Healthcare Supply Pros

My question would be how are they sterilized? Might actually ruin them for our purpose...?..Ever seen a doc sterilize with red iodine.. Not tasting to good but sterile!

Sterile is not needed just high quality rayon. A high quality rayon.

I did not mean to imply that sterile was needed at all!!!

Holy moly! A case of 4000? That's a great price. I noticed at the bottom of the description it says they're non-sterile, so they must sterilize them before shipping. I'm assuming that's included in the price. Wouldn't they no longer be sterile after you open the package?

Your right, it does say at the bottom they aren't sterile, I didn't see that. Hum, well I wonder which it is??? I would think for the price they most likely are not.
