Lol

I always at least take good picks of my build wicked, trimmed , and then soaked.. Then at least I have something to go by. :)

Always examine a bad wick job before you pull it. Too tight too loose.. Gap at top of coil... Nudge the wick down by the coil, is it hard, or does it push down and leave a gap at the coil.. Optimum is a nudge may push it down but it goes back into full contact with coil.

Good luck on another 50 ml bobas wick!

Im still pushing 30ml on my TOBH what's the record i need something to shoot for lol,

80- 120ml is attainable on a dripper. 30 days

In the tobh specifically you'd have to thread search tobh. tbev went 120ml I think it was a tobh.

I went 80-90 and had a lot of life left before I dry fired the mod by accident sitting on it with a dry dripper. If I had dripped before I put it down it would have probably been fine. I could have seen it going another 30 ml.

If a wicks working leave that sucker in as long as possible. Then let us know what you got and post pics if possible.

So today I felt like trying something a little different. Since I already knew my 1/16" coils need 1/4th the width of a strip of cellucotton plus a little extra peeled off, I rolled my wicks. Kept rolling them rolling then juiced my fingers a tad and really rolled those things tight until they fit into the coil. No thinning, just trimmed to length and into the wells. Too early to conclude, especially since I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat from leaving the ac vent open all night, but they seem to be performing just fine. Took a little bit of time to roll them and threading them was a little trickier, but the result was a wick that was basically consistent thickness throughout, clean shoulders, wicks just fine, and not seeing any signs of darkening juice.

That almost sounds like uh method called TeoWick. Look it up. Hashtagged all over instagram. Pretty cool wicking style.

I mailed some of the rayon to desrever, I just sent him a PM with some info of what I have found with the Cellucotton and thought I'd post it here also.

One thing with this Cellucotton from Sally's, it's not uniform throughout the length, you'll find spots with tiny knots and you don't want those in your wick. I cut about a four inch piece, gently widen it and hold it up to the light so I can see into it, then you'll find the sections with the knot's and where it's not uniform. Sometimes I'll have just to toss that piece and cut another. It's also easy to pull it apart and break the strands while you gently pull a piece straight without knowing it. Keep holding up to the light and checking while you work it until you get a good section for your wick.

Anyone have any thoughts to add?

Good advice.
I've run into the same thing more than once and wondered if it was just me.

Since I always cut mine a little long, I usually just cut that part off and re-swizzle the end to go through the coil

You guys have some crazy wires. What the heck is that? Looks like the blob I usually have to untangle first.
But seriously...what is that?

LOL !

I looked at that and thought that would require:
  • 5 or 6 glasses of wine
  • my ultra super mega magnifier
  • lottttssss of patience
  • at least 9 hands to hold things
  • about 10 metres of kanthal because I'd screw about 90% of them up

Darn kids and their dexterity :vapor:

With the bit of rayon (a few feet) I was gifted, as long as the maim strand wasn't kinked or pinched it was great, even after mailing.

500ft box on order from Sally's!

Driving a truck and hauling coal all the time, getting my hands *really* clean, like not discoloring the rayon clean, is impossible. I just cut the "wick blank" a hit long to account what I twist up and make sure I cut it off ...

I've twisted the wick after a heavy coffee drinking session [dark oily Italian style whole bean] by licking my fingers and thought something was horribly wrong.
