I just wanted to thank Jeremy for posting that video wicking the flashi (flash-e? Whatever it was!).
I'm new to rebuilding (a few weeks experience), and cotton worked well enough, but not perfectly. I wanted to switch to rayon (Tbev would make a great salesman, I also want a Fogger...), and that's when inexperience really bit me.
However, watching that video, it became apparent I was using about 4x the amount of rayon I should have been. Everyone just said "cram it full!" and believe me, I did... Now that I know how thin it should twist near the end, that's been a huge help.
Even now that it's really working well, and the actual flavor has returned to my Kayfun, I have a feeling I'm still using a touch too much. First refill, and I got a random dry/almost burnt hit a bit later. I'm using 70% VG, so I just closed off the airflow a bit, and haven't seen had an issue since. In the first place, I had trimmed the tails near bald, and let them just touch, not fall onto, the deck.
Whatever caused it, I've still got some things to work on. But without that video, I would absolutely be fumbling in the dark.
I also used his tail-trimming/draping style in a tiny trident RDA, and I think even it's holding about a ml of juice now. Good stuff, and thanks again!
