Once some of the more well known video reviewers start singing the praises of Rayon I'm sure you'll find a bunch of turncoats come over to the Rayon side.

The guys at a vape so near me doubt like it because it wasn't their idea, they are like "wow...well I guess it's ok, ..j don't like it. " they are to cool ...idiots.

Exactly why they are not touching it.

It came out of no where, from a no one in the industry. (Me)

They don't know anything about it so they side the the others that don't know anything about it.

At least p busardio (sp?) reviewed rayon wick along w/the cottons and hemp- plus gave Jeremy some credit in his review, so that's one good thing. IMO the review wasn't badly done, and IIRC rayon wick ended up tied for best. I think he was at least trying to be fair and because his favored material did not do well at all, he ended up w/no dog even in the fight. Now if a few more of the 'big players' would review rayon wick- like my favorite trip ripper:p- rayon wick would be further along its way to mainstream acceptance.

ETA Jeremy, any news on a different source of rayon wick?

Oh they know about it but, their scared to have their mind blown.

Yes pb was the only one. He sided to say he didn't know if it was safe. So it became a wash of support with doubt.

Sitting down, facing forward.
What still gets me is that people say rayon wick is made with dangerous chemicals, which is true but it is also cleaned of those chemicals during the process, and they have no idea how their silica wick is made, where that cotton actually came from (other than manufacturers statements, always very reliable) or how that hemp was de-gummed. Personally, I think rayon wick is probably the purest product out there, being pure cellulose with no possibility of random chemical contamination until I get my hands on it.

Quick update;
I only had time to make one quick wick with a single build coil rda.

I need to use more Rayon then i did with Cotton, it dries up too quickly at the coil and i need to make the tails shorter. I think its easier to work with in some way the n a ball of cotton, because its a pack of single threads uniformed together in a nice long big rope.
Flavor was ok, i did crappy wiking job, so thats my fault.

This is my 3rd wiking ever, so with practice i think i can get the most out of Rayon. Now i just need to buy more cheap juice to practice with...lol

I'd recommend ITCVapes for good tasting inexpensive juice that is good quality. There's a large thread here on them if you want to look it over: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...um-without-outrageous-price-tag-itcvapes.html

Didnt say convinced.. Lol

Proceeding to... Trying to.. No matter what there will always be non believers. But as I always say - their loss.

I know its pretty ridiculous some of the things I see out there on other sites too.. But there's always people with clear heads that try to expose the error in thier ways.

the US government defines rayon as " pure cellulose"

Many different companies rayon product is regularly tested by Oeko-tex the leading textile testing facility in the world to be free of ANY harmful chemicals

To add injury to insult then you have the vaping celebrities saying - I don't know who thatthat is I don't trust them.. Come on dudes of course you have never heard of the company but they are the world wide respected agency.

*Seems we need to do a little work here guys.

A google search of rayon wick brings up another site that starts off bad, but as you read others clear the air but the title is negative. The reason they place higher in google is because we don't say rayon wick enough.

If everyone that writes rayon also adds wick ( rayon wick) we should be back at the top of google in no time.

Rayon wick clean pure flavors.

I don't know Jeremy, when I was helping the gun club set up a website through GoDaddy I found out you can pay to have your website pop up near the top of searches. You can select key words to associate your website and surprisingly it didn't cost that much either.

Well i keep getting dry burns.

I rewiked it, made a new coil and wiked it a few times, then made another coil and wiked that on as well. Still getting dry nasty burn.

Got the wick saturated in juice, but after 3sec slow pull i get dry burn. Im not getting this kind of issue with cheap CVS cotton.

Did that, now the coil glows red.

Then you have either too low of a resistance (doesn't look likely at a quick glance) or not enough rayon on the inside of the coil causing it to lose contact with the coil.

Gotta stuff it in there pretty good. Almost to the point of coil deformation. It will squeak when you put it in. Squeak = good.

What is your ohms?

Mech or regulated mod?

I have had a good build go bad due to a faulty connection on a regulated mod. Read about 5 ohms IIRC. 8W into 5 ohms = 6-ish volts. When the connection decided to make good when hitting it with 6+ volts it equates to around 22 watts. 22 watts in a 1.6mm coil in a Kayfun is way too much. Had to yank the coil and build a new one and tweak on the 510 pin a bit..

You said cut off 75%, so i did...lol

Yeah i rewiked by shoving the rayon in to the coil and its much better now. It is squeaking good. Had to wet the ends with water to get it in.

24g, 6 wraps on 1/8 = 0.6omhs. Sigelei 100 plus.

Its working now, just have to figure out best way to run the ends of the wick for best saturation.

Result so far; silky smooth vape at 21watts, but lacks the flavor. Will try another juice that has more flavor kick.

Thanks dude.

I don't think I said to trim the wicks +/-75% lol, but that is neither here nor there.

IMO the wicking depends on your RDA. For my Magma I leave "pony tail" style wicks down to the bottom of the well. For my Patriot and old PV I thinned the wick tails and spread them across the deck kinda like a fan. Both the Patriot and PV have relatively shallow decks so the less of material on the deck the better IMO.

In your build above it seems too "saucy" to me. I never had a stuffed deck when I switched to rayon. My only issue with shallow deck drippers is that I can easily run them dry without any warning until it is too late. I just can't perceive the wicks drying out.

At 21W you should be ok as that is not too extreme IMO. I do lower watts in the 10-15 range and lengthen the draw time.

It takes a little time to get the hang of it, but soon you will be a wicking master.

As for flavor I have found that a lot has to do with the atomizer. I started with an EVOD then to an Aerotank and the flavor perception changed quite a bit. Then from the Aero to a Kayfun and it was night and day different and the flavor was increased dramatically.

Same with my drippers. Patriot to PV to Magma. I broke the Patriot out for nostalgia last night. It just didn't cut the mustard and once the deck was dry I washed it and put it back in the vape case. As for the PV that thing got traded for the Kayfun. I hated that RDA with a passion. Once the Magma came along most of my other gear is now collecting dust.

It may be worth trying other devices on the market and see what fits your bill. I sold a buddy of mine on the Magma and he was stunned on how well it did. I learned from the folks here to give it a shot and finally decided to go to the shop and buy one. Twenty something dollars later I was twisting some wire and wicking that sucker and it was love at first vape.

I have Lemo Drop coming in this week, it will be interesting what kind of trouble ill get my self in to with my first RBA. I got the first RDA few days ago, so im doing good so far, no one got hurt...yet...haha.

And the flavor is a bit muted compared to Atlantis tank with BVC coils at same 25watts, but the vapor feels fuller when i inhale it. Even tried using a narrow drip tip and still no joy on flavor.

Edit;

My right lung hurts now from taking too many dry hits earlier. Fudge....

Not enough rayon in the coil. Take the section off the attt so you can see the edge of the coi, is there a visible gap at all?

Lightly press down on the rayon wick at the edge of the coil, release is there a visiable gap now?

You didn't have this problem because cotton swells rayon doesnt it reduces as the fibers come together.

Here are some posts that may help you
