Thanks for the info. Looks quite nice. It has a fixed 510 pin right? You can run it with only one coil only or do you need to close some holes?

This one looks quite sturdy. Those wells are big! As with the Plume Veil, it has a fixed positive pin I hope?

I like the magma because it seems to work out of the box with just one coil. The Plume Veil with more posts seems to be rather made for dual coils? The adaptability of the plume veil seems however better... hard choices :)

Tony, I can't speak on the Magma but the Plume, yes the 510 is not adjustable for length. They designed the Plume to be used with one or two coils, the top cap assembly is made so you can open one or both mid-level/side air slots. You can twist the positive post, angle it for a coil if needed. The positive post and 510 screw are mounted in delrin, the slot in the 510/screw is very shallow and it's made of soft brass, as I found out. Just use a pair of needle nose pliers to twist the post when you need to take it apart or angle it and don't use a screw driver on it.

If you can stand Rip's personality, this is a good video that will show you the features of the Plume, he mentions how he compares it to the Magma. He shows how the three different levels of air flow work and how to adjust them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESqORlj22pc

This is really funny. Why the hell does it happen to me?

Sally's big box of rayon doesn't do it to me, but pulling out the rayon balls from pill bottles? Forget about it...shiver city. :p

Tony,

A few things I need to add that Rip talks about;

One is the three bottom air holes on each side of the barrel, they are there so when you set the barrel on, you'll choose the air hole that will also align the side slots with the coil you built, whether it be a coil center positioned or a coil set off to the right or left. Notice the coil he has is center positioned on the deck, so using the center hole in the bottom it aligns the side air slot directly with the center coil, that brings air directly toward the coil. Hope I got my point across, I'm not the best at describing things on paper or by posts.

The 510 center pin/screw does stick out a bit and may be a problem on a fixed 510 but you could easily file a little off if needed.

The gold plated deck on the original, this clone is not plated. He talks about how that gives a better connection but unless all the conductive parts are gold plated there won't be a better connection.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to watch my blood pressure though as the guy stresses me out a bit :)

Lol. I thought I was the only one. Horrible feeling. I do manage to work with it after taking one or two deep breaths and bite my tongue all the time lol.

Thx for the tips. My 510 connector is spring loaded and sits 0.9mm lower than most (ie at 4.4mm instead of 3.5mm) because of an emergency modification I had to make. It will most probably be fine... I hope.
Avoid the Chinese gold plated Plume Veil's at all cost, the gold plating starts to flake off in little tiny pieces.
Stick to the stainless steel versions to be safe.
Ok, will do. Thx :)

Update:

Slavkov's balls are here :D

I'm going to rebuild my atty by lunch time and hopefully give a brief review in the afternoon. Lets hope I'll get to it before the forum turns the lights off :)

Tony

PS: Its 100% rayon because as soon as I touched one of the rayon balls I had a shiver going through my spine lol. I don't get that with cotton. Incredible how rayon makes my teeth cringe lol.

poor Slavkov, sure hope he had procreated all he had hoped to before you got to him. :)

This is one of the nicely adjustable RDA's that I have, the Mutation X V3. You can do single or dual coil builds and the top cap provides excellent adjustable airflow control. A deep well and a decent sized build deck make it easy to work on. The triangle screws are no longer there from the V2 version, its all Phillips now.

The authentic's are very inexpensive but I image the ones on Fasttech should be just as good, be sure to read the Discussion threads as well as the reviews.

This will move some serious vapor when wide open and provide decent flavor closed off.

Its a clone, but by design its leaky as hell. 3 holes for back air are above the orings so juice can go right out them.. Its only a 4 drip Atty or its leaking. Made for sitting and having a little vape, nothing you want to carry around.

I know I said its got good flavor, and it does have pretty good flavor.. but its a leaky sob

Tony, a few other drippers suggestions:
Veritas: excellent airflow (3mm), does not leak, a bit fiddly to rebuild, good flavor, takes less juice then the other two here.
Origen v2: good flavor, easy to rebuild, keeps lots of juice, had to enlarge its airholes to 2.8+ mm though - I like airy drippers.
Magma: easiest to rebuild, intense flavor, moderate airflow (for my taste) , average juice capacity, a bit prone to leaking. Heavy, BTW.

My personal vote would go to the Origen v2, it's the one I use the most, second the Veritas and third the Magma.
Excellent 1:1 clones available on FastTech.. Tested, liked them all.

Now that is pretty impressive! First mediocre wick job is still going strong, lets see how long it lasts!
Much more than you think :)

I was always like... Sunday I need to rewick... Sunday I need to rewick... until one day, after reading all these 100ml records, I thought... Why am I rewicking each Sunday? Is the flavor worse? No... Is it leaking? No... Am I getting dry hits? No... So why am I rebuilding?!?
;)

Guys, just found a store with a mutation x v3 (auth) for 26€... Delivery in 48h max (Friday)... Should I or should I not? That's the question... :)
