So whats the consensus on coil position? Vertical or Horizontal with a kayfun using rayon?

Vertical baby. It was born on it , see the first incarnation of the rayon in the link in my signature. The vertical "chimney" coil was born there as well. Real name Vcore - vertical hollow core external wick.

Now a days it's absolutely insane vapor flavor and nic production.

Bought the 500' box today "44060".

So much easier to work with vs cotton. I'm testing on an Aqua. Dual coils 32g 11/12wrap around a 14g needle. 1.8ohm on a cana mod. (recently went from .6ohm to 1.8 but that's a different story). used around 2X what I would normally use vs cotton. juiced the wick, filled the tank and took a vape. 1st impression vapor/flavor as good as cotton. Slight edge over cotton. just a tad "cleaner". So far it beats cotton in my book, but Please keep in mind I have been vaping it for less then 10 minutes.

Had to stop by Sally's after work, took home a 44060 box...

Re-wicked a Anyvape Davide, Mini PT2, and a Mini Anyvape Davide.

Easy like cotton, only stuffier fluffier.

I'm convinced, getting flavors I never had before, especially tobacco's.

Only been 10 minutes, me likes.

If my coils stay cleaner that's just a bonus.

Whole bag of cotton balls, minus 2, now collecting dust.

Great job JeremyR, thanks.

Edit:BTW using 1.6mm micro coils @ 1.8 ohms

I just started using Rayon in 3 of my KF's, standard horizontal coil 2.3mm diameter, 28 gauge Kanthal , 5 wrap measures 1ohm, I had no luck with verticals in KF's.

After a couple days with the Rayon I'm very pleased with the performance, I wicked using the same quantity of material as I did with cotton. Initially I twisted and packed the Rayon wick very tight as directed in previous posts, although it never produced a dry hit in any of the 3, I believe the wick was being choked off and they all produced a flavor that was slightly off, after rewicking cotton style with a little side to side resistance performance drastically improved. I'm not seeing the Rayon shrinkage as mentioned.

So whats the consensus on coil position? Vertical or Horizontal with a Kayfun using rayon?

I was a heavy r91 user and now have converted to the fogger v4. I went from using hemp twine, degummed hemp, to now hemp/cotton yarn for ease of use. I was wondering if anyone has tried rayon in yarn form. IMO the yarn form should be easier to work with. I wasn't really interested in this whole rayon thing but now I that I seen and heard how this stuff keeps coils clean for longer I ordered a 44130 box to try out. I may pick up some rayon yarn if I can find some as well. Good job on this guys!

EDIT

Found some yarn, wanted to know some opinions on it

Chenille has a texture - it's different from regular yarn. The one problem you might run into is whether or not it's dyed. The Aunt Lydia bamboo we were using was 'natural' and generally thought to be undyed. If the chenille is dyed, that would be a no-no. Also, the chenille might be very awkward to cut to fit into your coil, given its texture.

Awesome tru glad your liking it.. Well you never tried V with rayon, takes it to a whole nother level. If you don't notice reduction in the wick size after the prime, you may be using a rolled wick, while it may work if you get it right. The preferred method is pull off a long piece twice size of coil. Do not roll it at all.. point it and use the stretch to bring it though at the perfect density.

Remember guys you have a ton of this stuff and the wicks last a long time when done right. You need to start with a 2-3" long piece minimum. it will make your life a lot easier.. just cut off the excess. A long piece is nessasary to get the stretch properly.

Here ya go Truman, another convert!

Watch out while trying to find yarn, they like to mix stuff with rayon and still call it 100 percent rayon.....

Thanks J, think I have it dialed in…no twisting before I wicked the coil, just moistened the end and twisted about 1/2" to get it threaded, pulled thru, trimmed and soaked, working as advertised, and I'm looking forward to the extra longevity of this material.

Yeah... I did read up on it... and according to what I read that Tencil stuff is supposed to be created/treated with safer chemicals.

The impact is only environmental. The end product doesn't carry chemicals. I find CCr to be great, however tencel probably second great but the density is much harder to nail perfectly.. Being some one that knows the perfection of rayon I know that it is.

No I do not recommend any rayon yarn it probably has other agents and lubricants added.

I'll repost this from reoville..

I would be very cautious using any type of rayon fabric. It goes through much more processing and or added chemicals to turn it into/ become a textile fabric. I would highly suggest against it. *But at same time not sure what you've got, if it's not loose cotton type fiber there could be trouble.

There are also different chemical makeups/ types of rayon used in textile clothing applications and many of those are not regenerated cellulose - (cell OH+ Na2So4 ), some have an acetate molecule added, or different additives for spinning. Cotton in making clothes also can have other chemical treatments so its a similar deal.

We want pure "regenerated cellulose" which is CCr or pharmacuitical coil.

The smell from burning it should only be paper absolutely no other smell.
