Just teasin' ya, man... I've not regretted a single recommendation that you guys have made yet! I keep considering trying to build my own mod at some point... if I do, it's probably going to get a yihi board and a lipo battery... one of these days, I'll work out the rest...

Practical experience says no. At least not with a dna 40.

I got myself a couple of ft mini hana boxes with 1 800mah lipos. One mod would last me a full day.

I then ripped out the board and lipos and milled out the case for a 18650 battery (samsung 25R)

The mod then lasted one and a half day which sort of matches the extra 50% capacity.

Now it could be that tc control would help manage the power better but my setup is pretty optimized so I knew exactly at what watts I could run my atty in kanthal mode and I got the same average power in TC mode.

No because that's a 1S lipo (3.7v) so you can compare straight mah from lipo to 18650 (almost). The lipo will hold it's voltage better though.

Although you should add that one can't expect a good holding voltage from a crappy FT 1S2P lipo when compared to selected and matched cell packs.

Damn! I'm gonna have to keep looking then. I'm not going to use temp control because I don't want to get MORE new wire when I have 230 ft of 26g Nichrome that I'm perfectly happy with. I finally have a vape I'm content with but I'm not happy with my mod. I thought I would like the hcigar vt but after seeing some reviews. I saw too many negatives. I'm kind of a perfectionist. Lol

I actually like that mod. Looks sleek, dna 40 board and easy swappable batteries if needed.

I don't like the price though [emoji14]

For the same price you can build a dna 200.

Honestly I've been thinking of building my own mod. I just have to find the right box/container to put it all into. Now I'm thinking of using a LiPo pack instead of making it 18650.

That's kinda where I'm at on it, too... in my head, I'm picturing a laminated wood box with several varieties of wood... I just need to get the garage cleaned out so that I've got some workspace available. No real plans on which woods I'll use yet, but I'll probably just head over to Woodcraft and dig through the piles until I find some that appeal to me. I'm thinking with a Yihi SX board and a decentl lipo, she'll be a pretty sweet vape!

It seems we're standing in the same line. Lol workspace is at a PREMIUM at my place. Also need the time. We just had our second child and it would probably take me 5 months just to build it. Lol I'm looking at finding some kind of box/container that something else came in to use for the housing.

Here's my latest build. I am trying to figure out if less surface area has any affect on flavor, etc... KU rayon 30g kanthal 1 ohm 8 watts on a Provari. Splitting the wick and putting it in the coil from both sides has been working well. The coil is a little closer to the airflow than I'd like

New record for Boba's Bounty!!

Simple 28ga Titanium x 3mm x 7 spaced wraps (.64ohms) with Rayon wick in my Erlkönigin and I've gone through 80+ml of Boba's Bounty so far, and there's no sign of this build giving up yet! (Previous record with this juice was 60-65ml with twisted 30awg Nickel) it's nothing close to the 200+ml you guys are getting, but for Boba's, I think it's pretty impressive!

Most of that was on an eVic VT, so the temp isn't accurate, but for what it's worth, I'm Vaping it at 60watts/570°-600°(On a DNA40, I'm at 40watts/410°, so I'm cooking it pretty good)

I'm guessing the smaller gauge wire has a lot to do with longevity in regards to coil gunking, but you can attribute it to Titanium+Rayon if you want. Whatever it is, I'm loving it!

I'll report back if/when it finally fails
