RBA Leak Troubleshooting

I'm a new member, but not a new vaper. I've been using cartotanks for quite a while, but looking to begin trying my hand at an rba, probably an AGA-T2 or even a T3 if it releases before I buy my first. My biggest concern is that from what I understand, RBAs like to leak when not left upright. This would infuriate me, as I like to travel with my mod in my pocket and I spend a lot of time sitting. Is there an rba that is not prone to leaking, or tricks to prevent leaking without sacrificing juice flow and vape production? Basically, I want a leak-free RBA that isn't a piece of crap. Any help would be greatly appreciated, lest I waste a bunch of money on a paperweight. :glare:

I am relatively new to the RBA world. Have my first AGA-t2 coming in the mail sometime next week. from the research i have done and the pictures i have seen, most all RBA's will leak when set on its wide. This is generally due to where the air hole is and how the wicking system works. Picture the AGA-T, you have a wick going up through the deck and into the coil housing. Your wick cant be too tight to prevent wicking or to loose to allow fluid to flow freely out and cause a mess. The only solution is a snug wick. however even with that, your wick is sitting in an open housing. so when it is laying on its side, a wick will do what a wick will do and draw fluid up to the coil. gravity takes over and you will eventually get a small pool of juice going into your top cap. now enters the air holes. easy escape for juice. having said that, RBA's such as the Russian 91% seem to have the coil at the bottom of the RBA with an isolated air delivery system. this one may be less prone to leaking than say an RSST, AGA, AGI, or ZEN atty would be. I don't have much experience with high end attys, like i said this is just base on my research. those are my :2c:

Welcome to the forums. I am afraid leaking when laid down is just the nature of the beast. I was in the same frame of mind as you about the leaking for about a year. I finally broke down and bought the AGA T2. The vape is so good from it versus my trusty carto tank that I quickly forgot about carrying it in my pocket or laying it down and just happily dealt with it.

Leaking is inherent to Genesis style atty's. There is no way in hell that your aga-t2 will hold is juice if you keep it in your pocket. Not only will it leak if you travel with it but the top cap will pop off and you will mess up your coil.

RBA's like the Taifun, the Kaifun (lite or not) or the russian will not leak if built properly.... Upright, on it's side, upside down, while you back-flip your way to work... they will not leak.

Moral of the story, stay away from genny's if you want a leak free experience.

PS: Use only IMR high drain batteries (AW or Efest), do not overdischarge your batteries, do not go over the amp limit of your batteries, do not smoke cigarettes.
