I was told by local ecig store (franchise) that you should never use a genny atty on a vv device. (the person that told me also had never heard of ss wicks and said they wouldn't work, for what its worth)...
seems to me that vv might be an advantage if you were using a genny rba, if you have any kind of knowledge about voltage/wattage...I'm using an innokin svd that will go down to 3.0 volts, but I'm not looking to go sub ohm on an rba at this point anyway...
