About to make the jump into rba's, about to order two (an IGO-L and an AGA-T+ with a glass replacement tank) rba's as well as some test supplies (various thickness silica wick, some steel mesh, and 30awg Kanthal wire). I know I'm going to need a multimeter, torch, tweezers, but no clue about what else (I'm guessing mini screwdrivers, no clue what size exactly). Anyone care to fill in the blanks I'm missing or link me to an in depth RBA starter guide? Thanks in advance xD

There are loads of YouTube videos about this subject I have learnt a lot just from them.

Been doing that as well, was kinda hoping there was a post somewhere addressing in depth all the materials. I like having a checklist so I don't forget anything and can order online xD

How's your knowledge on battery safety?

I'm not very educated on the subject, however I'm not really interested in sub-ohm builds and will be way too paranoid not to test new coils (multimeter and test burn) before using them. Is there something I should read up on?

What are you going to put them on?

I have an MVP 2.0 that I use currently with my protanks, also have a Vamo V5 coming in on the same order.

Have you been rebuilding your Protank coils? If not, that's an easy way to get your feet wet. I like 32gauge kanthal since the platform is so small, the fewer wraps seems ideal. Other than kanthal, you will need cotton balls( most folks recommend organic cotton balls) and you are set. Your MVP will read the resistance so nothing to buy there. There is a ton of you tube videos on the subject. As far as actual rebuildables, the main thing is to experiment SAFELY which with the protection that your MVP has built in, you should be OK. Building above 1.2 is your best bet, and you can create tons of flavor and vapor without going subohm. There is no better way to learn than watching and reading. You can make your own checklist as you go, tailored to your specific needs. Good luck!

When I started building, it was with the Provari, the Russian and some various gauges of wire. I did end up getting a atomizer ohm meter, which I really like, more accurate than one on regulated mods, and makes for a nice stable stand to mount the build with. I picked up the Ronson Butane torch, which I really like, got it at Walmart. needle tweezers and pliers come in handy, I wrap micro coils using blunt tip syringe needles, find they work great for wrapping and mounting the coil. have a selection of 14, 16, 18 and 20 gauge needles that I use for my DIY juice but use more for wrapping coils. I use mainly 28 awg Kanthal for builds of .3-2 ohms, which I really like, picked up some ribbon to play with too.

some of the tools I use was stuff lying around the house, some I picked up as I went. Next item will probably be an rba stand, but haven't found I really need it, but would be handy to have. Make sure you get a selection of different gauge wire before you buy 100' of it, so you can find your preferred size for the ohms you want for your build. Lightning Vapes - Lightning Vapes - Great Products, Lightning Fast Shipping! Silica Wick, Kanthal Wire, Stainless Steel Mesh, Ekowool and More! is where I get most of by rba supplies, great prices on wire, mesh, cable and silica if you use that. I use mainly hemp fiber for my wicks and some times cotton.
